Mingyu did not expect the first few weeks of uni to go by so fast, so when December arrives he is absolutely unprepared. He doesn't mind the cold, but when you have to walk home from classes at 10 at night or leave the library after another failed study session with Seokmin, he hates it.
In retrospect, the fact he kind of has a friend to go home to is kind of exciting. Wonwoo and him have become kind of closer? There's a huge question mark at the end of that because yes they hang out with the rest and study together sometimes but then sometimes it's also dead silent between them and Mingyu has to walk on eggshells around him and its exhausting.
Sometimes he wishes he could just change rooms with Hansol across the floor to be with Seokmin but they kind of have this weird close dynamic where they know each other words and actions before they say and do them. And to be fair, Mingyu doesn't want to disturb that.
So he sucks it up and goes through it and sometimes he thinks the bad moments are worth it when Wonwoo smiles at him like. That smile that caught his attention in the first place. That smile that shouldn't make Mingyu feel things. It was another day of classes and exam preparation when he walks home to, by his surprise, find Wonwoo laid out on his bed. They kind of expanded their furniture inventory, because the depressing room that existed before, was not nice to look at, yet alone live in. Wonwoo bought a mini refrigerator and Mingyu bought a little beige cough that fits two next to his little desk.
Mingyu hadn't seen Wonwoo in a couple of days so he is kind of not sure what to expect.
„You hungry?" Definitely not that.
Mingyu strips his backpack off his shoulder and throws it carelessly on his desk chair. „Kinda" he mumbles as he takes shorts from him tiny closet and walks into the bathroom before he locks it. If he can act cold to him, so can Minygu.
He quickly changes and washes his 3 days old greasy hair before entering his bedroom again and jumping on his warm fluffy bed. He has been waiting for that moment all day. Ever since his professor started complaining about missing assignments and not wanting to postpone deadlines, he has been thinking of nothing but resting in his bed, and it's just as comfortable as he expected.
„I ordered jjajangmyeon" Mingyu turns around to face him and looks closer at his face. He looks tired, the bags under his eyes more visible and the oil in his hair making sure everyone knows he hasn't had time to rest in a long time. Yet his fluffy hair and rosy cheeks still make him look handsome. Mingyu hopes Wonwoo doesn't see him pinching his naked thigh hard for thinking that.
„For me too?" He asks shaking the thoughts out of his mind and covering himself in his blanket even more. He's cuddling his fluffy blanket up to his chin and he's sure he looks stupid right now but he's too exhausted to care.
Wonwoo nods silently and shortly after, there's a knock on the door and he goes to open it. Mingyu doesn't miss how his hairless, milky thighs flex when he gets up making them look toned and beautiful. He also covers his blanket over his head and exhales because he just called a grown mans thighs beautiful and to be frank he wouldn't be able to look at himself in the mirror right now.
„Eat up" Wonwoo says after he unpacks the plastic containers and sets them on the floor in the middle space between both their beds. Wonwoo is already mixing his noodle when Mingyu hears his phone ring- his dad.
Wonwoo doesn't stop slurping his noodles and doesn't even notice anything is wrong as Mingyu sits still on his bed, frozen in his position as he listens to his phone ring continuously. His body is ice cold and dread fills his whole being as he can't even begin to think how the conversation will go. His dad had called him multiple times the past weeks to tell him all about his mother suffering because he moved away. The last conversation went as far as to guilt-trip him into being responsible for his mother's declining mental health. And if his dad was not refusing to acknowledge the reality, he would notice his mom has been doing worse and worse ever since his brother committed suicide 6 years ago.
