Isaac's POV:

After a long sleepless night and an even longer shift at work, I am finally back at the dorm, waiting for Jared to come over with his findings from the research he hopefully has been doing. His room ended up being out of commission but luckily Nathan went home this weekend. I pace back and forth in my room, trying to burn off this nervous energy. I fall back on my bed, thinking about the other night. The feelings I had while running through the woods. That must've been another weird dream right? But I woke up in the woods. That was real. That did happen. I can't just explain all that away, even if I really want to. I can't believe this is all happening to me. Why did I go in those stupid woods? Oh yeah, Theo. That asshole. Of course, whatever is going on is because of Theo. I perk up as I hear a knock on the door.

"Come in." I put my hands over my face.

"Don't seem too excited to see me," Jared says walking into my room.

"Sorry, I'm just wallowing."

"Well stop that cause your awesome best friend has brought reinforcements." He throws a stack of books down next to me.

"What's all that?" I sit up and peer over at the reading material.

"It's the vet books I promised, mostly about diseases carried by animals and its effects on people."

"Wow, all of these books are on veterinarian sciences?" I say, starting to flip through one of them.

"Well...no...some of them are mythologies and...bestiaries..."

"What!? I haven't been messing around with animals!" Jared walks over and hits me on the back of the head.

"Not bestiality you doof. They're books filled with every type of monster and cryptid from myth, folklore, and history."

"Oh." I rub the back of my head.

"Are you making fun of me? How is that going to help? Monsters aren't real." Jared sighs and sits next to me.

"A lot of weird stuff has been happening to you that I know you want to write off as growing pains, but I have a hunch it's something more."

"Hmmm, I don't know."

"Let's just look at what I've got, and we'll go from there. Okay?"

"Fine, let's get to reading."

Jared's POV:

We flip through the books I brought for what seems like hours. I look over to Isaac who is deep into a book about diseases caused by animals. I turn to the bestiary I'm reading. I am already at the Vs, reading extensively about Vampirism. I hear Isaac sigh and slam the book he's reading shut.

"Well, I definitely don't have rabies."

"Hmmm, fair point but have you noticed not being able to go in direct sunlight, no reflection or a sudden aversion to garlic?" I give him a questioning look.

"If you are insinuating I'm a vampire, I am going to hit you with this book." He glares at me. I put my hands up in defense of my previous statement.

"Not insinuating, just asking."

"No, I am not a vampire, I had garlic bread last night with dinner. Also, if anyone is a Vampire, it's Nathan, I swear he studies so much he hasn't seen the sun all year."

"Well, what do you think you are?" I ask, continuing to flip to a different monster.

"I mean other than a freak who needs to get less superstitious friends?" He jokingly nudges me in the arm.
