"You go get Lin Dongwook onto the bed; position him in the same way he usually sleeps. And the placement of the wheelchair, I want you to replicate it without the slightest error. I'll go and wipe the blood off the floor."

Ji Lisa took off her jacket and dipped it into some tea on the table. "When we are done with this, you and I will each go back home, change our clothes, wipe our faces, and go meet Princess Shunde."

"We will go meet her?"

"Yes, let's go meet her." Ji Lisa knelt down on the floor and wiped at the pools of blood. "Let's go tell the princess that the Valley Master suddenly fell seriously ill last night and is now bedridden, and that his breathing is extremely weak."

When Ji Lisa wiped to the corner of the wall, she saw the small pile of dust left behind by In-na. She took the dust into her palms and sprinkled it into a flowerpot nearby.

"Move quickly." She turned her head to look at Lin Mingyu. "We don't have much time to waste."

When Ji Lisa and Lin Mingyu finished cleaning up Lin Dongwook's residence, they avoided others and quickly went back to change their clothes. When they met again, it was in front of the main mountain gate of the Demon Valley.

The spring flowers were already gone, leaving behind an eyeful of lush greenery.

Ji Lisa and Lin Mingyu stood to the left and right of the gate without saying anything. They looked like the usual young valley master and master warden.

The two looked at each other quietly, then looked down the main path. They waited for the legendary Princess Shunde to blow in with the wind.

Soon after, the sound of marching footsteps came from the distant bend. Even though they could not see anything yet, the sheer amount of people coming was apparent just from the noise.

The Demon Valley was located in the southwest, far away from towns, and extremely remote. It rarely had such a grandiose crowd. Most of the demon masters here had been confined to the valley since childhood. Unless they had the capabilities of Jisoo, few got to see the outside world.

The sound of footsteps approaching was enough to cause an uproar. They were nervous, anxious, and curious.

The first thing to appear in the distance was a red flag embroidered with a five-claw dragon.

The emperor's flag was a dragon embroidered in bright yellow, representing supreme power. Princess Shunde always loved red; the brighter the red, the better. So the flag representing her was a golden dragon on a red background.

Throughout the dynasties, princesses and empresses, the females of royalty, always used a phoenix design. Only Princess Shunde abandoned the phoenix and preferred the dragon instead.

She did not even bother making an effort to downplay her ambition. But her brother, the emperor, did not seem to mind at all. He allowed his sister to participate in dynastic politics, executive decisions, and even infiltrate the military and the State Council.

Ji Lisa pondered over these things while staring at the ground. Once the dragon flag came to a stop in front of her, the sound of footsteps, horses, and carriages also stopped.

Ji Lisa finally lifted her head to look at them.

The bright red palanquin was so flamboyant and was carried by so many people that Ji Lisa lost count.

It was covered by layers of organza and silk veiling interwoven with gold and silver, reflecting the light of the sky with such a dazzling shine that one could not look at it directly.

And behind the veils of bedazzlement was a woman dressed in bright red. Her posture was relaxed, and her hand was slightly raised as if drinking some wine.

Soon a eunuch stepped out from the giant crew. He looked at Lin Mingyu, then at Ji Lisa, then sneered.

Ji Lisa also took a look at him. She felt like this eunuch's features looked somewhat familiar.

"Where is the Demon Valley Master? The princess herself has arrived; why don't we see the master of the valley here welcoming? You guys are truly negligent."

The eunuch stared at Ji Lisa as he spoke.

When the sharp voice pierced her ears, Ji Lisa suddenly remembered. It was this eunuch who had delivered the box holding Jungkook a month ago. She had also given him a neck sticker of forbidden speech... Guess he got help from the Grand Master...

From the looks of it, he had not forgotten Ji Lisa and was probably still holding a grudge. Now that he's together with Princess Shunde, he would likely be a bit troublesome to deal with.

Ji Lisa innocently lowered her head and stayed silent, as if she knew nothing. There was a young valley master here handling everything anyway.

"Princess, please forgive us," Lin Mingyu bowed. "The Valley Master suddenly fell seriously ill yesterday. He is unconscious right now so cannot personally come to greet you."

"Seriously ill?" Eunuch Zhang was puzzled. "Why was it not reported to the court?"

"This illness came suddenly..."

"Illness?"

A soft voice questioned from behind the layers of organza and silk.

The arrogant eunuch looked like an overinflated balloon suddenly punched flat. His entire body curled into a bow as he walked back to the side of the palanquin. "Princess, please be at ease."

"It's just an illness; what do I have to be angry about?" The crimson figure inside sat up. "I have come to reward Valley Master Lin. The Demon Valley has accomplished two of my wishes in succession; this merit cannot be ignored. But unexpectedly, he's fallen ill."

The veil was gently lifted from inside by a pair of excessively flawless hands.

Her fingers were like carvings of white jade, and each fingertip was dotted with small golden flowers.

The bearers in front of her kneeled down in unison as soon as she lifted the veil, and the palanquin tilted forward at a perfect angle, allowing her to comfortably walk out.

Jade-like feet without shoes and socks stepped forward, but before they landed on the ground, maids with flower baskets had already covered the mud and stones with a thick layer of flower petals.

Princess Shunde did not look at her servants at all. She walked toward Lin Mingyu and Ji Lisa while the busy maids laid out an entire floral path before her.

The perfume of countless flowers overflowed the main gate. Ji Lisa looked at the petals being stepped on and only felt pity.

So unfortunate for these late spring flowers. They had spent the entire winter germinating, an entire spring growing, but in the end, their blossoms only served this.

"No need for the crew to enter mountain roads." Princess Shunde waved her hand, and a maid at her side immediately draped on her shawl. "Let's go see Valley Master Lin by foot." Princess Shunde looked at Lin Mingyu. "Young valley master, lead the way."

Ji Lisa's eyes stayed on the ground, and her face was blank. But inside, she decided Princess Shunde was not going to be easy.
