Writing Prompts #1

1) You wake up to your execution. You hear the sounds of the machine grinding. Your hands and legs are bound. Your heart races as you sit up to see how you'll die.

2) A goldfish takes over a space station and establishes a whole new universe via technology alone. It'll kill you because you are its one big weakness. Without you, the goldfish is invincible. You are immortal for as long as the new universe keeps on living. You are hunted down. What happens?

3) You find yourself alone in a coffin. Someone buried you alive. The coffin has an instant unlocking mechanism if you dial the right code of your most special day in less than ten tries. Do you survive?

4) Picture this. There's a world where everyone is hunted down by their inner demons. Everyone travels and no one stays in one place. The closer the inner demons are, the more they begin to feel the effects of old age. You, on the other hand, are the inner demon of someone. In order to return back home to Earth, you must hunt them down.

4) A dentist is trying to fix a bug's teeth. How big is the bug? How small is the dentist? Is the bug trying to eat the dentist? Why is the dentist fixing the bug's teeth? Is the dentist a bug? Is the bug a person in the costume?

5) Magic is policed. You have an unnatural affinity for necromancy, which unfortunately lands you a job in the criminal underworld. Crime bosses of all kind pay you to resurrect numerous dead bodies to be their eternal servants. One day, a police officer discovers your necromancy ability. What do you do?

6) In this world, everyone is given ten soul mates when they're 20. Depending on their personality and choices in life, new soul mates can be granted and old soul mates can no longer be a choice. Everyone knows how many soulmates they have, but no one knows if these soul mates are platonic or romantic. They know the number of soul mates they have is because it's shown on a body part of theirs in tally marks.

7) A person is fighting a wardrobe during a thunderstorm outside. Is the wardrobe alive? Is the person homeless? Are they both going to be stuck by lightning? Who is winning?

8) You find yourself in an alternate reality after staring at a clock the wrong way. You find bizarre reconstructions of humanity. You eventually discover that this was the original humanity. Everything you knew was a lie. You and everyone else you cherished had all been playing human. Now that a kind of yours is here again, what happens to you?

9) In the world, there's a harp that constructs the melody of life itself. It's handed down from god to man to god to god to man. When the harp inevitably breaks, everything is destroyed and there reborn. You were given this harp from a deity. Numerous groups wish to have this harp, for it was believed to control the destinies of people. What do you do with the harp?

10) You touched a cursed amulet and swapped consciousness with the spirit within. It's now happily parading as you as it keeps hold of the cursed amulet. You know that the spirit will return to the amulet if it ever lets go of the object whilst being in your body. You try your best to try and communicate with your loved ones to get the cursed amulet off your body and return.
