-3rd POV-
"You know, unlike you, my dad-"
"Didn't leave me no trust fund." Mike finished Marcus's sentence, making [Name] sigh. She was currently crouching on the floor next to Mike while her father Marcus was laying on the seats because he got shot earlier.
"Yeah, right." Mike rolled his eyes and looked towards the girl next to him, who looked just as annoyed as he was while Marcus continued talking,
"I got real shit to deal with, Mike."
"Like, I can't believe my poor baby daughter has to see all of this."
"Dad-" [Name] tried to interrupt her dad, but he cut her off.
"Not now [Name]." Marcus scolded before continuing his little speech to Mike. "I'm not in it for the thrills." He finally finished, and Mike finally looked back at him.
"Same old shit, different day." He looked at [Name], who nodded, and also looked at her father.
After a short, tense silence, Mike suddenly spoke up. "All right, yes, damn. I shot you, all right? But you'd be seeing nothing at all if I hadn't made my move. So I don't know why you're acting so angry, Bro." Mike finished and looked away again while Marcus continued to stay silent, but [Name] could feel her father being angry just not wanting to admit it.
"I'm not angry."
"Yes, you are." Both Mike and [Name] said at the same time.
-The next day-
[Name] walked next to her aunt Sydney, who had her arm wrapped around [Name]'s little sister Megan.
"Auntie Syd, it must be so cool."
"Young, single, living in New York. You probably hook up with a lot of cute guys." [Name] raised an eyebrow as she listened to her little sister speak, a small smirk forming on her lips, and she stuffed her hands in her pockets, glancing towards her aunt Sydney, who also glanced back with a small amused smile.
"Just Like Sex and City-"
"Theresa, cancel the damn cable." Marcus spoke up, and [Name] and her mother Theresa turned towards her father but said nothing, so Megan continued speaking. "So Auntie Syd, you're a cop like Big Sis and Dad too, huh?" Megan pointed at the (h/c)-haired girl with a smile, making Sydney chuckle.
"Sort of, I mean I work for the DEA, but I just push a lot of papers." The woman explained, "Nothing exciting."
"Well, you keep pushing papers." They all turned towards Marcus, who swam towards the ladder of the pool with his air mattress.
"So I don't have to worry about my baby sister fighting crime." The older man spoke and tried to get out of the pool
"Okay? So I don't have to worry about you..." Sydney smiled and turned towards [Name] and Theresa with an amused smile as Theresa ruffled [Name]'s hair, making the girl chuckle.
"Possibly... possibly getting hurt." Marcus finished, and Theresa shook her head, amused at her husband's words.
"James. Get my screwdriver and [Name] come here; I'll show you how to fix the ladder. Damn bolts." Marcus shook the ladder of the pool, which had some bolts loose.
"Coming!" [Name] began walking to her dad, and Theresa spoke up. "Ignore him; he's just a bit mean because he got injured." The woman explained, and Sydney listened, a frown forming on her face, and she turned towards her brother Marcus, who [Name] was standing with.
