Chapter - 16 # Showdown at Viridian Gym

Intro

A long while after Giovanni defeated Gary with his newfound secret weapon, the man is now back sitting in his office at the gym, petting his Persian and facing 3 certain members of team Rocket. He was clearly wasn't very please with them.

"You search for months and didn't bring anything but disgrace ?" Giovanni said," You three are the definition of incompetent."

"We are so sorry boss," 3 of them said.

Their apologies were interrupt as the phone on Giovanni's desk started ringing.

."Hang on, I need to take this,"Giovanni said as he answers phone,"Moshi Moshi?... What?... What?!... Dammit."

He harshly hands up the phone, making his own Persian afraid as Giovanni reaches tnto his desk drawer.

" There's been an incident, I have to go,"he headed for the door.

However, he stopped and looked at them.

"You three must watch the gym in the meantime. Here," He said as he hands Jessie 3 pokéball and a small tied-up bag.

" Wha-"Jessie was surprised."

"Those pokeballs have Pokemon for battles and that bag as any badges for any winning trainer," he said," I'll be back in about a few hours. DON'T set the gym on fire like your other works."

With that Giovanni left.

"Well, that was something," James said.

" If he gave us the badges...."Jessie said.

"That means for now, we're..." James said.

"Gym leaders...." Meowth said.

Ash and the gang decided to head over to the gym again. When they got there, they saw the cheerleaders are coming carrying a semi unconscious Gary. They quickly run to them. Gary looks at them.

" A.... Ashy.... Boy?"he groaned.

" Gary, what happened?"Ash asked, " What did this to you ?"

" Some kind of Pokemon did this... "Gary said,"It lifted my Pokemon up and sent Blastoise flying right at me."

Ash and his friends gasps. A Pokemon did this?

" I'v never seen it before and my Pokedex said there was no data,"Gary said.

The gang told the cheerleaders to take him to the hospital while they are going to see what is going to happen. The guards were no longer there and the gym sign said 'closed'.
