forbidden love

A forbidden love,
Memories forgotten,
A promise made beneath the oak tree,
That still stands tall—
Though most traces of the past have vanished.

The only remnant left behind,
Is the castle,
Now overgrown with grass,
Wildflowers blooming inside its walls,
And faint echoes of the past waiting to be reclaimed.

Their paths cross again,
In this modern time,
A sense of familiarity stirs within them.
Though they’ve never met in this life,
Something compels them to reach for one another,
And never let go.

Their eyes lock,
As if time itself has stopped,
In that moment,
Only they exist.
One takes the other’s hand,
And together, they run toward the castle.
With each step,
They reclaim what was once lost.

They reach the oak tree.
Both close their eyes,
As a gentle breeze sweeps through,
And the memories return—complete once more.

They open their eyes,
Tears glistening in the sunlight,
Falling softly down their cheeks.
They embrace tightly,
Holding on as though they might never let go.

Pulling back from the embrace,
One smiles and whispers, "I found you."
The other grins and replies, "You did."
