chapter 5

I wake up seeing Letty, Dom and Hobbs. “Hey.” I say. “You did good.” Dom says. ‘Not good enough.” I say. Letty looks at me. “Sometimes we mess up. It’s alright.” She comes and hugs me kissing my forehead. “What happened to Deckard?” I ask Hobbs. “His in a black site detention prison.” I nod. “Can I have a moment alone with Letty?” I say. Dom and Hobbs leave util it’s just me and Letty.
“You alright?” She asks. How do I even answer that? Of course I’m not alright. I feel like my heart was ripped out. “I think I had feelings for Deckard.” Is all I say. “What?” She says laughing thinking I’m joking. I look up at her and she realises I’m serious.
I explain how we meet and how I felt. “Kate, I felt like that for Dom when I first met him. But his a Shaw.” “I know.” I interrupt her. “I know and it sucks. I think I need to take a breath and get back to my old life Letty. I need to get back to training and combat.” She sighs. “Okay but rest first. And keep in contact with us.” She says as she walks out. I know why she says that. The last time this happened after I was taken. I never kept in contact till Letty went missing after the accident and we though she died only then did I come back.
It was shitty of me, I know. And I regret it so much.

After a few days I got discharged from the hospital and got back home. I messaged Letty to tell her and she came to see me. After she left I got ready and headed to training. I passed the black site prison which Deckard was in and waited there. I have no idea for what but I was just replaying all the times I saw him. I called Hobbs. “Hobbs.” I said. “Kate, Do what do I owe this pleasure?” I take a deep breath. I know what I want to ask. I don’t know why but something is telling me I have to do this. “I want to see Deckard.’’ I say. He takes a while to answer. “Wait for me, Ill stand guard.” He says. I get out of my car and stand against it crossing my arms.
When Hobbs arrives he steps out of his Land Rover Defender. “You really are Letty’s sister.” He says. I laugh and walk inside with him.
As we get inside I take deep breaths trying not to show my panic. “You’ve been MIA for a while.” Hobbs says breaking the silence. “Yea, I’ve been busy. How’s Letty?” I ask rubbing my arm. “She’s alright.” He says and we reach his cell. “Stay to the side Hobbs. I want to talk to him alone.” He nods and does as I say.
I open the cell and enter. “Deckard Shaw.” I say. Why did I do this again? I look at him and see his orange jumpsuit. He looks good like that. “What do you want?” He says. His pissed. “I came here to see if you were alive or dead in here.” I lie. I came to check on him or something. I’m not really sure why I’m here either. “So you came to see if I was dead. Bet you’d be pretty happy if I was.” Now his getting on my nerves. “I don’t support killing of anyone! And that’s why I did what I did! Because of what you did to Han!” I screech at him. “Well it aint my fault that Toretto messed with my brother.!” Tears form in my eyes. “Well maybe you should be blaming your brother then. For taking my sister away from me! Putting me through hell when I though she was dead! We did that for Letty and you did that because your selfish! And that’s why I hate you Deckard Shaw!” I yell. He grinds his teeth and looks to the side.
I turn to leave. “This was a mistake.” I say as I leave. I walk out and slam the cell door closed. “What happened in there?” Hobbs asks. “Nothing. I’m going home.” Hobbs sighs.
I get into my car and speed out of there. Letty calls me but I’m to out of it to answer. I’m angry and myself for falling for Shaw. I’m angry at him because of everything his done.
I get home and throw my keys on the couch heading to the punching bag. I don’t use gloves. I hit bare handed. Many times. My finger is healed now not fully but healed.
By the time I’m done my knuckles are bloody and bruised as expected. I tend to them after and then carry on my day. I train more. Doing some combat, weights and basic fitness.
After that I order food and watch a few movies.
Two days later at night, I hear my phone ringing later that night. I look at the screen. Luke Hobbs. “We have an issue.” I jump up from the couch. “You okay? You don’t sound good.” I say. I hear him breathing hard and wincing. “Dominic Toretto has gone rogue. I’m gonna be gone to jail. Check on Letty.” He says and the call is ends as I hear police sirens.
I phone Letty. “Letty! What happened?” I hear her sniffling. “I don’t know.” “Fill me in okay?” She ends the call. I need to give her time.
I’m till extremely shocked and I don’t believe it. There has to be more to the story. Dom would never.
Next thing I know Letty messages me. “Get my location and get down here.” What? That’s weird. I track her Location and get drive there. I end up at a huge building. As I enter I see Hobbs and Mr Nobody. I enter the room after them. I look over and see the team in handcuffs. But Letty already broke them of course. “Whats this?” I ask. “You told me to round them up?” Some guy asks Mr Nobody. “I didn’t tell you to handcuff them.”
“Why are they here Mr Nobody?” I ask. “Well, I knew you would come after Letty so that’s why we didn’t come take you.” Roman scoffs “Oh so you just knew.” He said imitating something with his hands. “Yea actually I did.” He says. Then Letty speaks. “So why are we here?” Mr Nobody clicks on the screen to show a female with white hair, glasses. Her hair is really short. “I believe that cyber terrorist known as Cypher.” He says. “Wait no Cyphers an organisation not a person.’’ Ramsey answers.
What does this have to do with us? “Not according to our sources.” The guy says. Wait who is this guy? “What does she want?” Letty asks. “Nobody knows. Cypher is like a digital act of god. She can manipulate word systems from the shadows. Anything that can be hacked is hers to play with.” Ramsey says. Dang this girl sounds smart.
But again what does this have to do with us? “And heres the kicker. You will never find her linked to any of it.” The guy speaks. And before I can ask Letty does. “What the hell does this have to do with us?” Then Mr Nobody clicks on the screen. And Dom’s picture shows up. Shocked I look at Letty. I see her look at the picture in sadness. She doesn’t believe it either.
I put my hand on hers for support but she just stares at his picture with a hurt expression on her face. She turns to look at Hobbs and so do I. He gives a look as if to say sorry.  “So, you want us to track Dom?” Roman says. “That’s going to be impossible.” I say. “Which is why I’m brining another pair of hands.”
He point to the door and someone walks in. Deckard… I stare at him in his suit. Hobbs stands up ready to beat him. “Ah my day just got a hole lot better. Mr Nobody you want to tell me why you put me in this room with this criminal sumb..”  Hobbs insults him. “Big mouth for a small head. Coming from prisoner 6753” Deckard answers. He hasn’t noticed me yet since Letty’s standing in front of me
