Chapter 5:

"He's a strong kid. He'll fight." Brian said.

"Always has been. He was stronger then any of us after your dad died. He was the one that kept us together. He put up with us yelling at him. And he knew that we didn't mean any of it. We were just upset."

"Yea. And now he's the one dying." Brian's eyes filled with tears.

"Yea. And when he wakes he's going to freak that he's in a hospital." Tracy smiled sadly.

"Mrs. Meil?" Keilter asked quietly so he doesn't wake Danny. He moved Danny's hair.

"Yea?"

"Sam's a hero. He saved Danny here. They both are. There was a elder couple being robbed and Danny fought them to let them escape. Danny wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Sam."

Brian smiled at that. "I always knew my kid brother was a hero." He leaned up and kissed Sam's head.

Tracy sat beside Sam on his other side. "By the way who are you?"

"I'm Keilter Mandier. I'm the one that found them."

"You saved my brother."

"I did."

"Thank you Mr. Mandier."

"No problem." Keilter looked up as someone else entered.

"Danny......" Scarlet said.

Keilter smiled at her. "Ms. Coldier. I'm Keilter Mandier. I'm the one who found the boys."

"Thank you Mr. Keilter for saving my baby. He's all I have left."

Danny then started to wake and Keilter stood. "Danny? Can you hear me?" Scarlet asked.

"Ma." Danny whispered.

"Hey baby. I'm here."

Danny then opened his eyes. " I'm so sorry ma."

"What for baby?"

" Being in the hospital when we can't afford it."

"I'll take care of it. Both family's."

"We can't do that." Scarlet and Tracy said.

" I insist. And to pay me back they can work for me."

" Mom it will get Sam out of the crappy job with his jerk for a boss if he works for Mr. Mandier."

"That's true. Sam's boss Tom Welt is always a complete jerk to Sam. But he never quit because we needed the money."

Danny then looked at Sam. Poor Sam. Got himself hurt to save me. Almost died for me. This is all my fault. Danny thought. No Daniel. Sam wanted to protect you. He cares about you. The voice said. What happened to "Stay away from him. He's dangerous."? Hm? What happened to that? Danny thought. I was wrong. It's another friend of yours that is dangerous. The voice said. Who? Danny thought. Cela Feal. The voice said. The new girl? The one that moved here yesterday? Danny thought. Actually she moved here the day before yesterday. You were out for a whole day. Danny's eyes widened at that.

" Keilter how long was I out?"

" A whole day. Why?"

"Just wondering."

"Okay. Well I have to go. I have to go to work. I'll be back tomorrow as soon as I can." Keilter said.

"Okay bye Mr. Mandier." Scarlet shook his hand. "Thanks again for saving them."

"Yea thank you for saving Sam." Tracy said. Brian laid his head next to Sam's hand and stared into his face.

Keilter then left and Scarlet sat beside Danny. Tracy looked at Sam's face. Danny soon fell back to sleep and Scarlet smiled. Brian soon fell asleep next to Sam's hand. Tracy smiled when she saw Brian fall asleep. She then leaned back and got comfortable. Scarlet moved Danny's hair. Tracy stood and went over and kissed Brian's head then Sam's. She then went to get a coffee. She came back in sipping it. She sat down and drank some. She put it beside her and soon joined her sons in sleep.

Scarlet leaned over and kissed Danny's head. She then leaned back and looked at the time. She heard knocking and turned to look at the door.

"Hey Ms. Coldier. I brought over Danny's homework." Blake said standing in the doorway.

"Thank you Blake. That was kind of you." Scarlet said.

"Your welcome." Blake put the homework on the nightstand. She looked at Danny. "How is he?"

"He's going to be okay."

"That's good. He's a good kid. And Ms. Coldier?"

"Yes Blake?"

"Don't blame Danny for getting in a fight it wasn't his fault."

"Blake-"

"I'm not making excuses for him Ms. Coldier. Manny antagonized it by speaking bad about you."

"Me? He told me that they were talking crap about him."

"He must have not wanted you to be upset so he put up with the anger he figured you'd give."

"Oh Daniel. Thank you Blake."

"Your welcome Ms. Coldier. Tell Danny when he wakes that I said Hi will you please?"

"Of course Blake. He'll be happy you stopped by"
