Lyric walked into the cozy cafe, the smell of fresh coffee and baked goods immediately wrapping around her.

It had been a while since she'd met up with Alex, and she was both excited and a little nervous about catching up.

They hadn't talk to in what felt like forever, and so much had happened. Alex waved her over from a corner table near the window.

She had already ordered, a half finished iced latte in front of her. "Girl, I thought you weren't gonna show!" Alex teased as lyric slid into the seat across from her.

Lyric laughed, rolling her eyes playfully, please you know i wouldn't miss this Life's just been.... a lot.

Alex raised an eyebrow, taking a sip of her drink. "Oh? I'm all ears. What's been going on? You look like you've got something juicy to share".

Lyric hesitated for a moment, her fingers tracing the rim of her coffee cup. She hadn't told anyone about what happened with Trevon yet, and of part her wasn't sure how Alex would react.

But this was Alex—her best friend if there was anyone she could spill her secrets to, it was her.
"So, remember how I told you things between me and Trevon were kinda..... weird for a while".

Lyric began, glancing up at her friend who was already leaning forward, looking intrigued.
"Yeah, of course, Alex said, her eyes narrowing slightly. You really never gave me the full story tho. What happened? Y'all good now?"

Lyric bit her lip, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness bubble up. "Well....we kinda....did it. Like, finally".

Alex's eyes widened, and she nearly chocked on her drink. "Wait what? You and Tre? Like, for real". She leaned in closer, lowering her voice even though no one around them seemed to be listening. "Girl, spill! How did that happen? You've been acting like it was complicated for months".

Lyric blushed, laughing softly at her friend's reaction. "I know, I know. It's been a lot. We've been hanging out more, trying to talk about everything... and I don't know, one thing led to another, and it just......happened".

Alex's mouth dropped open in disbelief. "Oh my god, Lyric! I can't believe you didn't text me about this the second it happened!" She gave her playful nudge. "How was it? is he still that good, or was it awkward since it's been so long?"
