No good deed goes unpunished

I lost my license today. Jordans mom complained  to the board about me. Said I had an unhealthy attachment to her son, and over stepped by providing him my personal number. Considering, I had to go outside of the legal system to get him help and Collin was never charged with anything. My actions were twisted to fit her narrative. They don't even know Jordan's no longer in her care.

In a way, she was right. I did overstep. I found myself caring for him, as if we were family. I didn't think about my other clients, when I decided to put my License on the line. Only Jordan and I'd do it all over again. Just to see that smile on his face, when he was in his dad's arms, or when he ran to his uncle. That let me know he will be loved and protected every second of every day.

After I transferred the rest of my clients and cleaned out my office, I decided to take a drive to clear my head. I intended on it being a short drive and somehow made it to the other side of Segovia. That's a five hour drive. Starving and in desperate need to lower my inhibitions. I pull into the first bar I see. Although, my first stop should be for gas, I can do that later.

"Welcome to Quinn's, what can I get for you?" The bartender asks as I take a seat at the bar.

"Three fingers of whisky on the rocks, please." I state before checking out the food menu.

"Solo or would you like a tab?" He brings over my drink.

"Tab, please. And may I have the bbq chicken sliders with fries?" I set the menu down and grab my drink.

"Coming right up, I'm Ellis by the way." He says before walking to the back.

"Hey Ellis, may I have another." I shake my empty glass.

"Sure thing, doing alright?" He grabs the bottle of whiskey before walking my way. Pouring it into my glass

"Every action, has a reaction. How are you doing today?" I empty my glass again.

"I'm existing with a smile." He laughs poring more whiskey in my glass.

"Awe, we are twins. I'm Zyla by the way." I extend my hand for a proper greeting.

"Shut up! Are you a doctor?" His eyes grew wide and his jaw dropped.

"I use to be." I tilt my head in confusion.

"The Quinns have been trying to contact you." He holds up a finger rushing towards the back. I don't know if he's getting my food or making a call.

Had he done that when I first walked in I would have walked right out. But I'm six to eight shots in right now. The Quinns can bring it. Wait, calm down. He said get in contact, that doesn't necessarily mean it's about something bad. Do I even know any one with the last name? I mean I must, how many Doctor Zyla's are there in the world?

"Um, Ellis. Who are the Quinns?" I eagerly reach for my plate, watching him approach with it.

"Doc, where have you been?" Mikel walks out after Ellis.

"Mikel, looking good." I smile, seeing him out and fully mobile is just what I needed. I'm not all bad, I do good too.

"A few shakes away from being healed completely. I even worked out today." He flexes his arms and back.

"I'm so happy for you." I state before stuffing my face.

"Jordan's been worried about you." He says pulling out his phone and I instantly felt bad again. My phone broke and with all that was happening. I never got another one.

"Look Jordy." Mikel turns his phone to face me and Jordan's eyes light up once he sees me.

"Where have you been? I missed you." He says and signs at the same time. Jordan saw me signing with another kid at the center and asked me to teach him because he wanted to talk to Paul as well.
