Final Piece to my Puzzle

After all these years, I see why my grandma's old trunk was off limits. The Lincoln's documented our time with them and she got her hands on them. It took me three days, to get through them all. I read about things I wasn't old enough to remember, and things I was programmed to remember differently. Told myself to stop reading it but I couldn't.

The acts were horrendous but the research was suspenseful. At some point my brain blurred the fact that I was the test subject. Allowing me to focus on the research as if it was a theory. It was harder reading what was done to my mother, than myself. Partly because a lot of what happened to her, was punishment because she was trying to protect me.

I'll admit, I had a lot of questions until Ona invited me over. Now, it all makes sense. There was a whole chapter on how to trigger a mother of beasts. They wanted her to expose her beast. From what I gather, no one has ever seen a woman transform. Most believe that's because they don't exist in women. My mom was living proof they do.

Both of my parents being keepers of beast, made them a target. I was a plus, a growing product of them both and a girl. After last night, I realized why she kept Zion a secret. They had no idea who he was when they came for my mother. If they did, people would've still been after them. They had no idea which two beast reproduced. The last entry was mother and father beast still unknown.

"I asked you all here, because I believe I figured something out." I say to Alanis, Vic, Mikel and Mikaela standing in the middle of my lounge room.

"You want to run it by us first." Mikel, puts his phone away. I bet he was talking to Ellis. Also known as Mr. Badass. Already back at the bar, like nothing ever happened.

"I want to see if it works. I'm going to whisper what I'm going to do in Mikaela ear, because it involves her. I need the three of you to keep your eyes on us." I say to them before filling Mikaela in.

"Let's see." She agrees, setting her things off to the side. Mikaela is down for anything. Even I would have had a question or two.

"If it does work, you will know it worked. Light this instantly." I hand Alanis a bowl of bay-go leaves.

"What is this? It smells familiar." He asks, trying to place the scent.

"If it works you'll know. If it doesn't I'll tell you. For now, I just want to see." I reply, before positioning myself in front of Mikaela. I close my eyes removing the barrier I put around my rage. While releasing the restrictions I place on my love. Embracing the darkness creating a different place for the light. For the first time in my life I'm allowing myself to be free in every way possible. Accessing my primal state

I open eyes, Mikaela's lock with mine. Her facial features sharpened, eyes widened at a slant, the ends pointed upward, brows slightly lifted enhancing the arch. Her K9's extended and sharpened. I did it. I triggered a flash, at the same time, I run my tongue across my teeth, feeling them do the same as hers. It doesn't hurt but it feels foreign and my body feels like it's on fire.

"Omg" Mikaela and I both gag at the smell of the bay leaves.

"Holy shit," Mikel says, rushing to my mini fridge. Grabbing two bottles of water, handing them off to us.

"How did you do that?" Vic stands there stunned.

"When you are triggered she is?" Alanis asks, walking Mikaela and I over to the couch.
