Chapter 26 - Monica and Célio Talk

STREET - EVENING

Sandra is walking down the sidewalk to go to her home. Annie turns the corner and finds her in the opposite direction. Sandra smiles as soon as she sees her.

"Hello, Annie! How are you?"

"I'm fine, thank God. You know, Sandra, I've been wishing to talk to you for a while."

"Let's go home."

"If we go straight to the point, I think we won't even need it. I have noticed you're very close to Miriam, our friend too. Including in that shame she gave on Saturday, at the Residents' Association. Now they are commenting on the possibility that Miriam is in love with Chief Roldão, is that it?"

Ed is riding his bike on another street, going to his house. Around him, there is the traffic, and heads of the household going home.

So Ed passes in front of a mechanic shop. There are mechanics around with a Fiat Uno that could only have been launched in the 70s. The state of "conservation" astonishes the mechanics, they do what they can. Ed gets off the bike and admires the show, it's funny.

"Who still insists on keeping that old junk? Throw right away at the cemetery in Canto do Céu and buy a brand new one!"

Ed shakes his head and goes on his way.
