He hissed in pain as he fell backwards, leaning his back against one of the counters lining the wall behind him. He tried to look up at his attacker, but the blood was dripping down his face, making it almost impossible to see.

The lights flickered, illuminating the tall figure standing above him. She stared down at him, rage in her eyes and a crazed expression written across her features.

He tried to speak, but it came out as more of a choked grasp as she leaned down to him. His attacker grinned maliciously, yet a low growl also escaped her as she observed his pained features.

He shrunk away from her, breathing rapidly as he prayed that she would show mercy and make his death quick. His prosthetic hand was planted firmly on the ground, holding him up, while his other hand came up to try and wipe the blood away, but it kept coming.

His attacker reached out a hand, as if to touch him, before she suddenly recoiled, as if seeing something that scared her. Before he even knew it, the blurry figure had darted away, disappearing amongst the rubble that littered the room.

The lights continued to flicker, concealing her appearance as she left without a sound. It was as if she had never been there in the first place, moving swiftly like a phantom.

He continued to breathe heavily as the lights finally gave out and the room was plunged into darkness. He tried to steady his racing heart, hoping that one of his companions would come to his assistance.

But it seemed they had fled. He looked down at his own bloodied body, which instead of being bathed in a dark, crimson red, was covered in blue. Almost as if it were paint.

That, if anything, helped to soothe his nerves. Yet his eyes widened as he noticed a faint glow coming from it.

Was...his blood luminescent?

The thought intrigued him, distracting him from his pain. It was a welcome distraction, and for once, he was glad that his curiosity was enough to drive away the pain and panic for now.

Despite the injuries, and the weight of the situation that had happened, he still found himself being bombarded with a flurry of ideas about how he could use this to his advantage in the future.

So as he reached for the radio, which had been discarded on the floor to his side during the attack, and began to call for backup, he still smiled as he thought of the future.

For his body may have been easy to break, but not his spirit.

(*Sighs in being late again*)

So I know that the theme was neon gore, and technically there isn't a whole lot of glowing involved, but I wanted to make good use of one of my ocs that actually has glowing blood.

This oc is my comfort character, so he's one of my oldest, and also one of my most traumatized. (Why he reacted so calmly to being mauled I suppose lol.)

I hope you enjoyed this little snippet of ~oc lore~ and tomorrow I'll have more body horror to purge your eyes with. *Cackles maniacally*

May you have a great day/night!
