The bar was packed full of people and I luckily came across an empty stool. I hesitated to sit because of how soaked my clothes were but screw it. I wondered why so many people were here then remembered that there was a small fair happening a few blocks away. The local church wanted to bring people together and raise money for renovations. I was going to ask Tiffany if she wanted to go on a fun little date.

The memories of everything that happened flooded my mind and I stared off at the liquor bottles in front me, trying desperately hard to stop the tears from coming back.

"Can I get you anything?" The bartender says as he plants his hands on the counter. "Yes, I'll take a corona with lime." I said. He takes a good look at me before walking away to get the corona.
He returned with not only my ice cold beer with a bright green lime sticking out the top, but also with a white towel.

"I'm sorry, you looked cold and I thought you could use this to help you warm up and dry off." The gesture made me smile as I took the towel and wrapped it around my shoulders. "Thank you," I said in a mumble.

"Enjoy your beer".

I took the chilled bottle in my hand and pushed the lime into the hole until it fell into the beer. I watched the bubbles rise to the top before bringing it up to my lips and drinking the entire bottle in 5 gulps. Feeling the cold burning sensation rush down my throat, I wanted the beer to hit my system hard. I placed the bottle back on the counter and took a deep breath.

Looking around the bar at all the happy people laughing, some holding cheap stuffed animals they won at the fair, others wearing balloon hats. No one has a care in the world right now. It made me think about everything Amber told me. I should have trusted my best friend, she saw everything I failed to see because I was so infatuated with Tiffany.

I should text her and let her know I was ok but I wanted to be alone.

"Here's your beer" the bartender said as he placed another corona down in front of me. "Oh I'm sorry I didn't order another one yet." I said refusing the awfully tempting beer.
"The woman over there bought you one" I looked in the direction that he was pointing in and saw a familiar face. I stared much longer than I intended to, trying to remember where I recognized her from. Then it hit me, she was the business woman ordering the coffee cake.

I thanked the bartender then raised my bottle to her as a thank you. I wanted to order her something in return but I wasn't sure what she was into. I pushed the lime down then tilted my head back chugging the beer.

As I was half way done with it I felt a hand slowly lower the bottle. My lips followed the rim until the liquid was low enough to not spill on me then I looked over to see the woman standing next to me.
"You should drink it slower, I'd hate to see you choke" she said with a small smile "mind if I sit next to you?" She asked, pointing at the empty stool next to me.

I nodded my head and watched her take a seat. She was no longer in her dressed up suit but now in a pair of blue jeans and a white button up with the sleeve folded up to her elbows.

"Why are you drinking your beer so egarly?" She asked as she sipped on something that looked expensive.
I hesitated for a moment, unsure if I should open up to the stranger or tell them to mind their business, but since she kindly bought me another beer I figured I owed her an explanation.

"I found out that my girlfriend of 4 years was cheating on me today and this is just how I'm choosing to cope with the situation right now" I said, picking the beer up and taking another long sip. She stared at me for a few minutes before deciding to speak. It was almost as if she was contemplating on telling me something personal back.
