Sunday

What a weekend! I don’t think I’ve had this much fun in a long time. It all started on Friday when my mom surprised me with some allowance money. She knows I’m trying to pay back Dad, so she gave me enough to save up, but I kept 20% for myself. I had to set some aside for transport, but I couldn’t resist stopping by the library. Honestly, walking into that library felt like pure euphoria. The smell of the books, the hush of the quiet atmosphere—it was like being high without the drugs. I was like an addict, and someone just blew cocaine into my face. I went absolutely crazy, grabbing book after book. I almost felt like I had to stop myself before I checked out half the library!

After I left, I met up with Melissa at the mall, and we caught up over some coffee. It was a chill afternoon, but little did I know the night was about to get wild. When I got home, my brother’s friends were already arriving. My mom was off on some church thing for the weekend, and my brother, being the genius he is, decided it was the perfect time to throw a birthday house party.

I don’t think I was ready for the crowd that showed up. So many random girls—all of them clearly just there to hook up with my brother and his friends. I had poured myself some wine (yes, in a fancy wine glass because why not?), and before I knew it, I was bonding with one of these girls. I can’t even remember her name, but by the end of the night, we were like best friends. The wine was definitely doing its job.

My cousins came over too, and that’s when things got even crazier. Sherry, bless her heart, was so drunk she spent most of the night leaning against a wall just to stay upright. Mzi, who I haven’t seen since high school, decided to make his move. And oh boy, it was a disaster. He started spinning this ridiculous story about how he’s always been in love with me, how I was the one to make him an "honest man." I nearly choked on my drink trying to get away from him, but in my panic, I tripped and fell flat on my face. So much for a graceful exit!

But honestly, Mzi wasn’t even on my radar. The real star of the night was my brother’s friend Mack. Ugh, Mack. Where do I even start? He’s gorgeous. I’m talking beautiful chocolate skin, the kind of white teeth that light up a room, and a smile that could win wars. He’s built too—buff and masculine—but it’s not just his looks. He’s smart. Like, really smart. We spent a lot of time hanging out, and the more we talked, the more flirtatious things got. It was like this magnetic pull between us. Eventually, he pulled me into my room, and well... let’s just say there was a lot of kissing. I couldn’t stop. It was like I was a vampire and I’d been living on animal blood for so long and finally got a taste of the real thing. We didn’t go too far, but it was enough to leave me thinking about it for the rest of the night.

Oh, and I also played wingwoman for Sipho—one of my brother’s friends. He was trying to hook up with this girl, and I worked my magic to help him seal the deal. All the guys high-fived me for that one. Later, we ended up in my brother’s room, where everyone was smoking hubbly. Sipho was passed out, and I spent a good portion of the night trying to wake him up by biting his man boobs (don’t ask, I was drunk). Mack was being all discreet, sitting next to me, and before I knew it, his hand was in my pants. I’m not even sure how it happened, but I wasn’t complaining. Let’s just say things got a little heated.

Saturday morning, we were woken up by Sipho’s screams. Turns out, the girl he hooked up with had stolen his phone. Classic. I spent most of the day nursing the worst hangover, but it was totally worth it. My mom came back that afternoon and was not happy about the state of the house. Condoms everywhere—definitely not what she wanted to walk into after a holy weekend.

But Saturday night was round two! My cousins, my brother, and his friends all decided to hit up another party—our cousin’s 21st birthday. It started out pretty dull, but my brother went out and bought a bottle of whiskey. We all piled into the car, drank the whiskey there, and by the time we got back to the party; we were the life of it. I danced like it was nobody's business. The shots were flowing non-stop.

At one point, Mack was hitting on every girl at the party. I didn't mind. The making out had been fun, but I was not looking for a relationship.
I was so out of it, that I did not notice Sipho pouring wine into my whiskey while we were in the middle of a conversation. Then my brother - who was probably more drunk than any of us-decided it was time to leave. I was not having it. We got into a drunken argument and I told him to leave if he wanted to, and the guy almost drove over my foot as he sped off. I was able to get us a lift from a guy who had taken a liking to me.

Today we were all laughing about it. Despite the drama, it was an amazing weekend. It was one of those moments that we would remember for life.
