In that moment of realization, the breeze that wafted brought her to his true face. Before he can unfurl the knot, and proceed with his filthy move, Kiara shoves him away. a hard slap touches down on his cheek, spinning his face to the sea.
"How dare you come close to me!!!! we are not married, nor am I the kind of girl who will spend the night with you before marriage?" she roars in a rage, but little does she comprehend his intentions, whose hands yank away her dupatta and send it flying away in retaliation. his outrageous gazes frightening Kiara. he was not the Laksh with whom she fell in love but rather felt akin to a stranger. He extends his steps towards her, compelling her to move back, but while doing so her foot gets down on the sharp edge of the platform, and eventually, Kiara tumbles over to the sand. Taking the opportunity, her fingers grasp the sand, and rising, it is hurled at Laksh, blinding him momentarily. Seizing advantage of the situation, her hands grab the dupatta and Kiara paces against the wind to the extent her feet allowed. A thorn pierces into her feet, leading blood to ooze out, but not even for once did she let that hurdle stop her, not until he is out of sight. Kiara shot her head back making certain that Laksh is not behind which finally directs her to cease near a tree. her hands touch the rough bark of the tree lending her support. Her lips part devouring air which the panting took away.
His hands search for the water bottle impatiently kept on the table once they discover it, he uncaps it and flings water into his eyes, reminiscing the moment of breakdown when his mother called him.
"Where are you?"
"I'm... (hesitating, he proceeds) "
"at the beach?"
His breath nearly halts, and fear traverses down his spine.
"Yes, but how do you know?"
"End your relationship with Kiara, otherwise when her breath might stop, you never know." that sound of threat, made him catch a glimpse of Kiara, who happily admired the ocean.
"What are you trying to say?" he asks.
"look toward the building behind your car" his eyes dart around scouring for the danger lurking around. he almost gapes when his sight pauses at the second-floor window which is heaved in dim glow except for that red point which undoubtedly was the sniper, hidden in that darkness.
"Please don't do anything to Kiara. I promise I will never meet Kiara again, but please spare her life, please Mom." laksh's shaky words, pleaded for his love's life but not that he was unaware of his mother's capabilities.
"It's in your hands now"
The disconnected call breaks off Laksh with only a single choice, to force Kiara to loathe him, to such an extent that she never desires to see his face again.
grasping the pole of the canopy, crumbling those roses wrapped around it, his tear-loaded eyes were rosy glancing at the path, while words bemoaned his action.
"I am sorry, Kiara. I am helpless. Your life is more important to me than anything else."
The petals fall on the ground lifeless like their relationship is, broken and torn apart.
"I didn't know you would turn out to be so lousy, Laksh. I thought our love was genuine, but how wrong I was. Like everyone else, you also just wanted to have my body"
She clenches the dupatta which shrouded her, in an endeavour to put a break to her body's shivering which the shock and heartbreak induced.
While walking back home, every moment her soul ached as if someone had pierced deep inside. Her hands force open the gate, then move to her innocent and beautiful face brushing off those tears. She yearned to stay sole away from all this blasting music, chatter, and laughter. She sprints to her room, opening the washroom's door. she slams it close, locks it and turns the shower on so that she can weep her heart out. the flood of gloominess pours out. her hands rub her arms harshly as if attempting to wash away the touch which made her feel filthy.
" I never knew you had such illicit thoughts regarding me, Laksh, I loved you but you only wanted to..."
Putting a break to her thoughts, a hasty knock on the door almost pushes Kiara to flinch.
