"It's always the little things that matters"
—
Michelle wasn't the best girlfriend. Neither was Anntonia. They fought a lot, but managed to get through it, together. All the things Michelle promised Anntonia she will do, well, she did do those things, in the beginning of their relationship, but as time went on, it slowly disappeared. She stopped doing those things.
Those little things.
The things Anntonia appreciated the most.
—
It's only been a month since they broke up. Michelle already found someone else, while Anntonia was still trying her hardest to move on from the other girl. Their relationship was like every other relationships, it had it's ups and downs, but they went through it, what Anntonia could not understand is, why did Michelle give up?
—
Ann went up the attic, the one where they used to spend hours on, just gazing at the stars, through their big circular dreamy window. That is their home, well, at least it was. Anntonia was gathering up the things Michelle gave her when they were still together, she's planning on giving it back to the girl, just for closure, for her to move on.
She opened a small box, filled with photo albums and books, one thing though, stood out. It was a vintage looking notebook. Anntonia wrote her bucket-list in that notebook but her friends teased her and called her boring, because "nobody does that anymore" lies, everybody does it. So, Anntonia made a list, just a list of things she wants to experience when she enters a relationship;
Those Little Things (The girlfriend commandments)
Anntonia opened the notebook, she saw most of those things were marked with a little check. They were fulfilled by Michelle.
Flashback—
Must do's for my future girlfriend;
•Must hold my hand every time we walk together.
•My future girlfriend must do the sidewalk rule.
•My future girlfriend must walk with me to school.
•My future girlfriend must laugh at my jokes.
•My future girlfriend must have patience.
•My future girlfriend has to buy me foods.
"Why are you reading that? Give it back," Anntonia said firmly. Michelle, being the obedient girl she was, wanting to increase her chances in winning Anntonia's heart did what she was told. "I promise to do all those things to you, even the littlest things, babe," Michelle said, smiling genuinely. "What do you mean? You're not even my girlfriend," Anntonia answered playfully. "I will be, once you say yes to me," Michelle retorted.
"And what if I don't?" Anntonia said, as if challenging the latter.
"Then, I'll jump from the rooftop of our building department," Michelle answered, sounding rather genuine than playful. "So dramatic, Dee, we both know if I say no to you, you'll go ahead and look for a new girl,"
"Is that how low you think of me?" Michelle asked, making an "o" face, pretending to be hurt my Anntonia's words. The two of them just laughed at Michelle's reaction.
