"Hi.. my name is Aiden."

"Okay..."

"What did you say your name was?"

"I didn't.. say my name."

"Well.. I am asking you to."

"Hm... If I tell you, would you leave me alone?"

"No promises.. but just so you know, I already know your name."

"Really? Well, what is it?"

"Hmm.. it's Chloe.. Chloe something."

"If you knew it already then why did you ask?"

"I asked.. because I want to be friends."

"Why? You don't even know me."

"Well, I want to get to know you. Besides, I think you are cool."

"Really? Most people think I am arrogant and proud.."

"Well, that is one thing we have in common."

"Hmm.. fine then. Let's be friends."

Chloe didn't know that those few words she said back then would come back to haunt her. If she had known what Aiden would do to her, she would have never accepted to be his friend. That was where everything went wrong.

Chloe sighed and closed her eyes, old memories rushing back.

"Hey Chloe. Have you read it?" Aiden asked rushing into the classroom. Every one in the class looked up at him. All the girls stared at him in awe.. all except one. Chloe Anderson, the only girl Aiden spoke to in that class.

Chloe sighed. "Yes, Aiden. I am just not done." Chloe said raising the book she was reading. Aiden grinned and rushed to sit next to her. He peeped into the book and nodded.

"You are almost done. Let me just say that I personally did not expect the end." Aiden said shaking his head. Chloe looked up from the book and glared at him.

"Shut up. Don't spoil it for me. Seriously." Chloe said and Aiden smirked. "Have you forgotten what you did last time? You spoilt pride and prejudice for me so bad.. it is only fair that I do the same." Aiden sneered.

Chloe pouted.

"Come on... You can't seriously still be on that. I thought I apologized." Chloe said. Aiden scrunched up his nose and was about to reply when they were interrupted.

"Hey Aiden. I just wanted to ask you if you want to sit next to us instead. You know you don't have to always sit next to her." A girl, a few seats away, said.

Chloe's face fell as every student in the class turned to Aiden. Aiden ignored the stares and raised his eyebrows at Chloe. Without turning away firm Chloe, he shook his head.

"You are wrong.. I always have to sit next to Chloe. Because she is my friend.. and the rest of you are not." Aiden said still staring determinedly at Chloe.

Chloe stared at him in shock. The girl who spoke up before scoffed.

"Seriously? What does she have? Maybe she is beautiful and smart but that is all really. We are more fun to be with." The girl screeched.

Aiden smirked still staring at Chloe. "Yeah. But to be honest, Chloe is everything I would ever want in a friend. Besides, we have so much in common." Aiden said with finality in his tone.

Chloe bit her lips. "I told you before.. everyone thinks I am proud and arrogant.." Chloe said and Aiden laughed.

"And I told you that I think you are cool. Does it really matter what everyone else thinks?" Aiden said smiling at her. Chloe smiled back.

Aiden chuckled, raising his hand and ruffljng Chloe's hair. "I will always think you are cool.. I will always be your friend." Aiden said and Chloe stared at him surprised.

That Chloe was naive.. this Chloe couldn't believe she had trusted Aiden. He said he was always going to be her friend.. yet he stabbed her in the back and walked away, leaving her to bleed.

"Are you sure you want me to meet your parents?" Chloe said nervous. Aiden smiled and nodded. "Yes I am sure. Besides, we can't turn back now. We are already in front of my house." Aiden said.

Chloe took a deep breath and nodded. "Okay. Amelia is around right?" Chloe said. "Nope. Just you, me and my parents." Aiden replied. Chloe widened her eyes.

Aiden smiled. "Don't worry.. I am here with you aren't I?" Aiden said stretching his hand towards Chloe. Chloe stared at it and smiled. She placed her hand in his.. placing her trust, her love and her friendship in him.

A few hours later, Chloe came to regret taking his hand. She regretted it so bad she almost died of regret.

After Chloe met Robert and Alisha Thompson, Robert told Aidan that he wanted to speak to him in private. Chloe and Alisha were left alone.

"You know.. you are the only female friend Aidan has. I never actually thought he could befriend a female." Alisha said conversationally. Chloe smiled nervously. She (Chloe) wasn't really good at socializing.

So she said the first thing that came to her head when she was nervous. "I need to use the toilet." Chloe blurted out and Alisha chuckled. Aiden had told her about how Chloe was antisocial.

"Okay dear.. just down the hallway. The third door to your left." Alisha said. Chloe stood up, cursing Aiden internally for leaving her alone.

As she walked down the hallway and past a door, she heard the voices of Aiden and his dad. Chloe quickened her pace because she didn't want to eavesdrop, but stopped when she heard her name.

She leaned closer to the door. "What if I don't want to do this anymore, dad?" Aiden said and Chloe heard Robert chuckle.

"It is not a matter of choice.. besides, it is too late now. You already brought her here. Soon, she will be inviting you over to her house. And there our plan would be complete." Robert said. Chloe heard Aiden sigh.

"Chloe is my friend dad. I don't want to use her." Aiden said. Robert scoffed.

"Really? Friend? She is not your friend. When you befriended her, you did not have her best interest in mind. You befriended her to use her. Now all of a sudden, she is your friend and you don't want to use her. Son, you already started using her the moment you walked into that school with the intent of using her. Besides, what is our family's motto?" Robert said in one breath.

Aiden sighed. Chloe suddenly heard a bang. "Answer me goddamit. What is our family motto??" Robert said scathingly making Chloe flinch. "Never leave things done halfway..." Aiden said softly.

"Exactly my son. If you are going to do something, then as a Thompson, you see it to the end. You should have never agreed to do it in the first place. But since you decided to do it, see it to the end. Got it?" Robert said. Aiden didn't say anything but Chloe assumed he nodded because the next minute Robert said, "Good boy..."

Chloe didn't know how she left that hallway but by the time she regained her senses, she found herself in front of Alisha.

Alisha knew something was wrong with Chloe. She was even more quiet than before she went to the toilet.

"Chloe dear, is everything alright?" Alisha asked. Chloe looked up as if she just snapped out of a daze. Her eyes were teary and she looked liked she was rethinking her whole life.

"No... I am not okay." Chloe said as the tears pooled around her eyes fell.
