So this year is the US elections

But how do these elections work? Well good question because I will tell you.

So as you know, the elections are a form of political decision that determines the next president.

There is what we call electoral college. And this is very important because electoral college determines the next president.

So let's talk.

The electoral college system is a system that contains of 538 electors. These electors come from each state based off the population of the state

Example; California is the most popular state with 55 electors for their population of nearly 40 million

And Wyoming is the least popular state with 3 electors for its about 500,000 population.

In order for a candidate to win, they must get a minimum of 270 electoral votes to get in chair.

Even if they win the popular election (the election where the people vote) if they don't win the electoral college they can't get into office.

But with the electoral college, there are swing states

These states are the most vital to win election.

There are 7 swing states, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

The most important one to win an election is Pennsylvania. Without Pennsylvania it's hard to win an electoral college if the rival party has Pennsylvania.

As you can see here, in the 2020 electoral votes the democrats have won Pennsylvania and some of the swing states making it easier to get to victory
