Prompt: Your mom doesn't make any time for you. She's missed almost every important milestone in your life, but this time it's different and everything blows up.

Your POV

I can't believe I actually waited for her this time and she still didn't show up. But she never shows up anyways, so I'm not surprised.

So I'm standing alone in an empty parking lot, with my high school diploma in hand and she isn't here. It's like I can't take it in, the fact that she didn't show up to my graduation. I know I'm not supposed to be sad about it. It's not like she usually shows up anyways. But I really hoped this time would be different. I guess I was wrong.

So I walk home, the early June sun heating the back of my shoulders.

I hate her.

The moment I get home, I hear Rose from the living room. By the sounds of it, she's not alone. A few moments later, mom's voice echoes through the walls. It's like something's finally snaps in me after years of being ignored and I storm into the living room.

"Where were you?" I ask, trying to keep my composure.

They are on the floor, Mom, Rose and Cosmo. Cosmo is in mom's lap, biting the ear of his stuffed animal. Rose's eyes are glued to the tv as she leans against mom, who has an arm around her.

Mom turns her head when I enter and her warm expression shifts into a cold one.

"Here. Obviously."

I swallow the lump of tears in my throat and shake my head in disbelief.

"You said you were gonna come to my graduation." I almost plead, my voice cracking at the end.

M9m just shakes her head with raised eyebrows, like what I'm saying is utter nonsense.

"That's ridiculous (Y/N),"she shakes her head, "you know that I'm busy. Rose and Cosmo couldn't be left alone."

"It's always about Rose and Cosmo!" I almost cry. "What about me?"

"God (Y/N), you're such a brat." Mom snaps, as she puts Cosmo down and stands up.

Even though she's only two inches taller than me, she towers over me. It's scary sometimes.

It's scary now.

"Don't you dare talk to me like that." She growls, eyes blazing and teeth blaring.

"You said you were gonna come today mom." I straighten my back to match her size.

I don't come close.

"I've never said that, stop lying." Mom hisses and my eyes wander to my siblings behind her.

Rose's eyes are wide in fear, her hand clutching Cosmo's. They don't deserve this.

"Mom-"
