       over lousy coffee cake"

I didn't know how much I would love Santa Barbara. It was truly beautiful. After we met my aunt and uncle, settled in, and unpacked, it was around four pm. Grace and I are sat on our bedroom floor. Aunt Lisa had one spare bedroom with two twin-sized beds.

"Gosh, your aunt and uncle are so kind and welcoming." Grace finally says. She gets up off the floor and starts examine the painting that hang on the walls. I smile at Grace, she looked finally happy, truly happy.

"They're your aunt and uncle now too Gracie." Grace smiles at the nickname, the one I used to call her when we were children. She turns around and plops down next to me. I scan her features.

"How about those guys from the skate park? Maybe we'll see him around town!" Grace smiles at her own idea and nudges me in the ribs. A ghost of a smile appears on my lips, Grace catching it. "Oooh! You're smiling!" She says, my lips form a bigger smile and I try my best not to start laughing. Grace being Grace, she starts cracking up.

So of course, I start laughing. This was the first time I've laughed since the accident. Tears form at the corner of Grace's eyes from laughing so hard. She starts banging the ground in fits of laughter.

"What's so funny girls?" Aunt Lisa says, opening the door to stare at the two wild girls laughing like madmen in front of her.

Grace regains her composure, and starts talking, "oh we were just laughing about these two really cute guys we met at the skate park. I think Ella is in love with one of them-" I clap my hand over her mouth and start blushing.

"Our Ella? In love? She's truly a tough cookie to crack." Aunt Lisa says, trying not to start laughing.

I've never been in love.
