Three days later, the house felt eerily quiet again. Frank's mom was still away visiting family, leaving him to navigate the weekend on his own. He relished the freedom, but the absence of her watchful eye also left him feeling a bit exposed.
After a lazy Saturday spent binging shows, Frank found himself pacing the living room, his thoughts consumed by Gerard. He didn't know when Gerard would show up, but he hoped it would be soon.
Just as he settled onto the couch with a snack, a soft knock at the door jolted him from his thoughts. His heart raced as he opened it to find Gerard, looking slightly nervous but with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"Hey," Gerard said, stepping inside and closing the door behind him. "I figured I'd sneak over while I had the chance."
"Glad you did," Frank replied, unable to suppress a smile. The familiar rush of excitement filled the air as Gerard took a seat next to him.
They chatted about mundane things at first—music, school assignments, and the latest movies—but the tension simmered beneath their conversation, a quiet energy crackling between them.
After a while, Gerard turned serious, his eyes locking onto Frank's. "So, about the other day..." he began, his voice dropping to a whisper.
Frank felt his heart skip. "Yeah? What about it?"
"I can't stop thinking about it. About you," Gerard confessed, his gaze intense. "I know we said we'd take things slow, but I really like you, Frank. Like, a lot."
Frank's breath caught in his throat. "I like you too, Gerard. More than I thought I would."
Gerard moved a little closer, their knees brushing together. "I just want to be honest. I don't want to mess this up."
"I don't want to mess it up either," Frank replied, feeling a rush of warmth at Gerard's vulnerability. "But I'm still figuring everything out."
"Same here," Gerard said, nodding. "But right now, all I can think about is how much I want to kiss you."
Frank's pulse quickened at the admission. "Then why don't you?"
The challenge hung in the air between them, and for a moment, neither moved. Then, with a mix of hesitation and determination, Gerard leaned in, closing the distance. Their lips met, tentative at first, but quickly deepening as the tension erupted into something more.
Frank melted into the kiss, his hands finding their way to Gerard's shoulders, pulling him closer. It felt electric—an undeniable connection that sent shivers down his spine. Gerard responded eagerly, his hands roaming down to Frank's waist, holding him firmly.
As the kiss intensified, Frank lost himself in the moment, the world outside fading away. They were just two boys discovering something new, something thrilling, and it felt right, Gerard's hand flew to franks hair and gave a slight tug. "mmmm f-fuck" and Gerard took the opportunity to slide his tongue into franks mouth.
When they finally pulled apart, both breathless and wide-eyed, Gerard grinned, his cheeks flushed. "Wow. That was."
"Yeah, definitely," Frank agreed, still reeling from the rush of emotions. "I didn't think we'd be doing this so soon."
Gerard chuckled softly, his eyes sparkling. "Neither did I, but I couldn't help myself."
Frank took a deep breath, feeling the weight of everything between them. "What does this mean for us?"
Gerard looked thoughtful for a moment. "I think it means we keep doing this—kissing, hanging out, getting to know each other. But we also take our time. No pressure."
"Sounds good to me," Frank said, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. "I like the idea of just being... us."
They shared another kiss, softer this time, savoring the moment. Frank couldn't help but smile against Gerard's lips, feeling the warmth of connection grow stronger.
As they pulled back, Gerard's expression turned a bit more serious. "Hey, just so you know, I really care about you. I don't want you to feel like I'm just messing around."
"I know," Frank replied, sincerity in his voice. "I feel the same way."
They settled into a comfortable silence, both aware of how much had changed between them in such a short time. Frank glanced at the clock, realizing they had been lost in their own world for a while.
"Want to watch something?" Frank suggested, trying to regain a sense of normalcy.
"Yeah, let's do that," Gerard said, but his eyes still sparkled with mischief. "As long as it's not a rom-com. I can't handle that much sappiness."
"Deal. Horror it is," Frank replied, chuckling as he grabbed the remote.
As they settled in to watch a movie, Frank felt a warmth in his chest. Things were still complicated, and there were challenges ahead, but in this moment, everything felt right. With Gerard by his side, he was ready to embrace whatever came next, one kiss at a time.
