Tate's POV

"KK's in this class?" Gracie whispers to me, leading us toward some empty seats in the middle.

"I guess, but why are we not sitting with her," I question, trying to keep it down, but very clearly, all eyes are on us, but KK's, in particular, feel like they're burning holes in the back of my skull.

"Do you want to further embarrass yourself by walking up those stairs?" Gracie nods behind us when we are finally in our seats, freeing our Macs from our backpacks.

"No," I grumble, opening a blank document for note-taking.

I stare down at the text on my phone, rereading it about a million times over, trying to come up with an answer.

"Tate??" Gracie wakes me up from my thoughts.

"Y-yes?"

"I asked if you texted Isla." She's supposed to pick us up when we're done with class. We're walking laps around the science building, waiting for her. The air is cold and thick, so we are shoulder to shoulder, keeping warm with our combined body heat.

"No, I'll do tha-"

"Wait," She interrupts, a smile erupting on her face. "Are you texting who I think you're texting?"

"Maybe," I giggle, handing her the phone so she can look.

"Oh my gosh!" She squeals, doing a little dance. "Invite her to get coffee now, I bet she's still here,"

"What?" I take the phone back, shaking my head a little. Way too scared for that. "No,"

"What do you mean no? Now's your chance." She urges, now facing me, her hands on my shoulder and looking me dead in the eye. "It's okay to be nervous, but clearly you like he-"

"Oh em gee no," I protest, countering her claim. "I definitely do not like KK," I make a fake disgusted face to back up my argument and continue to walk on.

"Okayyyy," Gracie smirks at me, catching up and locking our arms together. "But I'm so excited to say 'I told you so' when you two get married,"

"Shut up,"

"Love you Tatieeeee,"

hey so sorry the chapters are short, I've been trying to create outlines for this story and its taking a while. but i do feel like this is not going to be very long. maybe 15 chapters at most? sorryyyyyyyyy. i have another story coming up after this one however and am fully prepared for that one to be longer than 20 chapters. it would follow the line of Katie and isla's story and then thinking of doing another paige bueckers story after that. lmk if you have any other requests because i also might do another kk one? love you and thank youuuuu! please remember to add to your library and vote!!
