Halloween was just around the corner, and all of the toons were setting up for the huge Halloween contest! The best costume and whoever got the most candy would win prizes. The prizes were really good too, like full size candy bars, and even a room remodel if you were lucky. Shelly especially wanted the room remodel, as she felt like her room needed more dinosaurs painted on the walls, and Dandy kept telling her to wait until Halloween if she wanted a chance at it.

The only problem was that Shelly didn't even have a costume yet! What was she going to wear? She obviously can't go as herself, that would be the lamest costume ever. Shelly didn't have a car, she never really needed one, but she did right now. She decided to call Vee, hopefully Vee wasn't too busy with anything.. Shelly hoped as she dialed the numbers on her phone.

"uhm- hello? Shelly why are you calling me at fucking five am ??"

"Hi Vee!!! Uhh I was wondering if you could drive me to the costume store? I don't have a costume and I NEED to win the costume contest!"

"you're fucking lucky I don't have a costume either, otherwise I'd beat your ass for interrupting my sleep, I was in the middle of rebooting. i'll meet you outside Gardenview in twenty."

"Okay!! Bye Vee!!" Shelly hung up shortly after. Vee didn't seem to be in a good mood right now, but no one would be anyway if someone called them so early in the morning. Shelly got changed quickly, putting on her normal brown overalls, with a beige shirt underneath. Simple, but it would work for now. She had five minutes left, so she touched up her front strands and quietly walked over to the meeting spot. Dandy would be pissed if he saw her leave, she was supposed to help set up decorations, but she didn't feel like it, so she pretended she was sick. Luckily no one saw her, well, except Vee, who was waiting in her sage car with the windows rolled down.

"you coming or what?" Vee chuckled as Shelly cheerfully hopped in the car's passenger seat.

After a bit of driving, and lots of dinosaur facts later, they arrived at the costume store. Slowly walking in together, they got some weird looks from the employees. Normally they don't have anyone here this early.

"so, what do you think you're going to be for Halloween?" Vee asked. She could feel herself heating up, she had actually had a crush on the shell for a while now, but was too afraid to share feelings.

"Hmmm... OOOO! How about a dinosaur! A red one to be specific!"

"you dress up as a dinosaur every Halloween, don't you think it's time to switch things up?"

"But I have been! See, last year I was a green dinosaur, but this year I'll be a red one! OO! I could name my costume, 'Dino-SNORE'! Get it?" (dandy's world skin reference btw)

"haha, whatever you say I guess."

...

After what seemed like years, Shelly finally found the perfect size for her red Dino costume. To be honest, she looked pretty cute in it, Vee thought strictly to herself. Although, she got too caught up with Shelly she accidentally said those words out loud.

"🥱 y'know you look pretty cute in that outfit shelly!"

Shelly started madly blushing, trying to avoid the compliment directed straight at her. "Thanks! The blush on the hood of the onesie makes it so much more cuter! EEEEEE I can't wait to show everyone!!!"

While Shelly fangirled over her adorable outfit, Vee couldn't resist any longer. Right now would be the time to confess her real feelings. "i wasn't just talking about the costume y'know. you're pretty cute too." Vee replied, giving Shelly a small  'peck' on her cheek.

Shelly was blushing way too hard now, she didn't really know what to say. "UHM LET'S TALK ABOUT THIS LATER I THINK IT'S TIME TO GO HOME!"

Shelly started sprinting to the car, running off with the unpaid onesie still attached to her. Vee sighed a smile, giving the cashier 20 bucks.

"keep the change. my *girlfriend* is just ready to be home." Vee said before walking to the car, admiring how Shelly reacted. Guess her plan worked after all.
