Can't Let You Go || Sonadow Fanfic

Part 1. The Void

As I was running and running, all I can remember is that there was a white flash, and then, I was in some.. Prism Realm.. It was purple and black, with little crystal pieces flying around. I looked around, I had no idea how I got there, or how do I get out, but as I was looking around I saw a familiar face..

A black hedgehog with red stripes, was watching me from a distance. I immediately knew who it was.

"Shadow!!" I yelled in happiness as I started running towards him, but.. He wasn't as happy as me when he saw me, so as I was running, my face met his fist and then I fainted.

When I woke up, Shadow was sitting next to me.

"Shadow..?" I asked and then I sat up, holding my face, since it still hurt from the punch.

Shadow looked at me, and I swear I could see a smile of relief on his face.

"What are you doing here? And also where am I? What is this place?" I started asking questions, probably too fast.
"Calm down faker. This is the prism Realm. Before you broke the Prism, I used Chaos Control to teleport out and then, I ended up here. I tried to go into the Prism universes such as New Yoke city, but they won't let me in. I tried and tried, to the point where I lost the Chaos Emerald." Shadow started to explain.

As I was listening to him, I started to look around, and when I looked down, I saw it... The void.

"Hey Shads?" I cut him while he was talking.
"Don't call me that Faker, and I was talking." Shadow said with an angry voice. I ignored it and asked anyway.
"What's that?" I asked and pointed into the voids direction.
"The Void" Shadow said.
"The Void?" I asked.
Shadow nodded. I saw that he was uneasy with the topic, so I stopped asking questions.
"How are you feeling?" Shadow asked out of the blue, which made me surprised a little bit.
"Yeah I think I'm alright" I said and Shadow smiled a little.
"So, what are we doing?" I asked as I stood up.
"Well, we need to put the Prism together again so we can get back Green Hill." Shadow said.

I just nodded as he explained what we should do. As he was talking, there was.. An earthquake? It was weird since we were literally in the galaxy but yeah, it happened.

"What is this?!" I yelled at Shadow.
"How would I know faker???" He said, kind of angry.

I mean.. He had a point, if I didn't know what it was, how would he know?

When the earthquake stopped, we saw a ship came out of the New Yoke city universum.

"Sonic.. What is that?" Shadow asked as he looked at me.
"Eggman.. " I said as I looked at the ship.
"How did he get here??!!" Shadow yelled at me.
"How would I know???" I yelled back.

I really didn't know how they got out here.. There was only one answer...

"Nine.." I said.
"What? Nine? What is Nine?" Shadow asked confused.
"Who is Nine is the better question. And he is... Tails.. In the New Yoke universe" I said. Obviously I saw the confusion in Shadows eyes.
"Don't ask, just believe me" I said.
"Believe, you?" Shadow asked and he chuckled a little.

I swear.. My heart started beating faster.

We watched the ship as it was crossing trought the Prism Realm.

"What do they want?" I asked.
"We don't know faker, so stay quiet." Shadow said.
"Come ooonnn!!!" I said and yelled it out a little.

Sadly, it was enough for them to hear it.

"There you are you little blue hedgehog!!!" Said Dr. Eggman as he turned the ships gun towards me and Shadow.

I couldn't react fast enough.. Which is weird.. Because I'm the fastest.. Aren't I..?

They fired the gun.. And shot.. Shadow.

As it happened, there was only a white flash, and then.. They were gone.

I looked around.

"Shadow?? Shadow!!!" I yelled out as I was trying to find him.

And then.. I saw him.. Fainted.. Falling into the void..

I went after him... I HAD TO go after him.
