KATHERINE GROANED IN frustration. This was the 4th witch that she's contacted since she got this stupid brand on her wrist. She had gone a few days with it and the pain was so unbearable she debated ending it.
Okay, she's being dramatic but the thought of cutting her wrist off did not escape her mind.
She walked down the busy streets of New Orleans, a place she heard had many witches- real and fake.
Her heels clicked beneath her as she passed through hoards of people, grimacing in disgust when any of them touched her. She looked up, seeing the big sign on the bar, 'ROUSSEAU'S'.
She pushed open the door, the bell dinging signaling to the others that a new person had entered. She walked up to the bar, a blonde woman smiling at her at greeting.
"What can I get you?" She asked, leaning against the bat.
Katherine looked at her name tag, "Hi, Cami," Katherine greeted the young woman who nodded at her. "I'm looking for someone." She stated., pulling out a small sticky note from her pocket that had the bar's address and a name on it.
Cami raised a curious brow, "Who?"
"Sophie Devereaux."
Cami nodded, "Oh, Soph? She's outside; just took her break." She told the woman who sighed in relief.
"Thank you, Cami." She locked eyes with her, her pupils dilating. "Now forget you ever saw me." She compelled before she sped out of there, leaving Cami to blinked before returning to work.
Katherine stopped in an alleyway where she noticed the young witch smoking. "Don't you know smoking is bad for you?" Katherine drawled, walking closer to the witch who froze in terror. "I take it from your reaction you know who I am." She smirked.
Sophie dropped the cigarette, stomping it out with her foot. "Yeah, I've heard of you. Vampire doppelgänger; everyone has heard about you."
"I'm flattered, really." Katherine smiled slightly before it dropped. "I need your help and I need it now." She told the witch who frowned in confusion.
She took the chance, stepping closer to the vampire. "Why do you need me? Aren't there other witches you can go to?"
Katherine nodded, "There are and I have." She said before releasing a dramatic sigh. "But they're all useless so hence me being here."
"What do you need?" She asked cautiously.
Katherine's face turned serious, her lips flattening into a tight line. "What do you know about branding? Like magical branding?" She questioned.
Sophie's eyes drifted to the mark on the vampire's arm. "This about the little crest on your wrist?"
"You can see this?" Katherine asked, shocked. How the hell could this witch see it but no one else.
Sophie shot her a weird look. "Yeah, I can see it. It's big as hell."
The vampire scoffed, rolling her eyes, "Yes, thank you for telling me that." She said sarcastically. "How do I get rid of it because it's really affecting my plans."
