HOPE HAD BEEN STARING AT Hayley for an embarrassing amount of time. She just couldn't wrap her head around the fact that her mother (?) was really sitting in front of her. She didn't know whether to cry or laugh in pure glee but she did neither... just stared.
An elbow to her side knocked her from her one-sided staring contest making her snap her head over to Stefan who was giving her a look.
"What?" She asked lowly, rubbing her side.
'Stop staring.' He mouthed to her, knowing full well if he were to speak the pretty werewolf would hear him and he didn't just want to embarrass Hope like that.
Hayley was sitting in the front passenger seat next to Klaus who was driving. She was facing the window, her whole body turned away from him, not wanting to even be near any of them and Stefan and Hope sat in the back seat with Daffy.
She physically bristled at the comment. 'I'm not.' She mouthed back only to gain a deadpanned look from the ripper.
Stefan rolled his eyes, huffing, showing how he didn't believe her in the slightest making her shoot him a glare. "Shut up," she scoffed under her breath, making him roll his eyes again, this time even more dramatically.
They had been on the road for about 12 hours and Hayley hadn't spoken a single word, only glares and scoffs escaping her whenever one of the three tried to speak to her.
The only one she would even remotely show any attention to was Daffy (completely understandable) and it hurt Hope deep down but she knew it would take time for the woman to eventually warm up to her.
Hopefully.
Maybe.
Probably not.
Hope sighed to herself as she leaned against the window, watching as they passed a 'Welcome to Chicago' sign making her back straighten up a bit, knowing that this is where her family resided and she was just a step closer to seeing them again.
She locked eyes with her father in the rear view mirror and he sent her a barely noticeable nod making her smile slightly.
"Can we get something to eat?" Hayley's voice grumbled from the passenger seat, her eyes locked on the window.
Everybody snapped their heads over to her, even the dog. "Oh, she speaks." Klaus hummed, a small smirk on his face as he directed his attention back to the road.
Hayley shot him an annoyed glare. "I don't really feel like conversing with kidnappers." She shot back.
"Girl, I said the same thing." Stefan huffed out with a nod, leaning back in his seat, spreading his legs out.
Klaus rolled his eyes, "We're almost there, then I'll get you something to eat." He told her.
The car went silent as he continued to drive, entering the busy city of Chicago, buildings and lights passing by in a flash as they drove.
Soon enough Klaus parked in front of a bar and the 3 in the car were quick to get out, stretching their legs and groaning. Klaus got out, rounding the car and stopping in front of them. "Alright, we're here to talk to a witch— nothing more nothing less." He told them, his voice firm as he eyed them all.
