*Your POV*
Once his shadow unties me, I stand up and start pounding on the elevator doors. I'm honestly a little frustrated that Alastor put himself in this situation and didn't allow me to help. Now that I'm not restricted, I could be helpful! Then at least it would be two against three!
"Alastor!" I yell in the elevator. I know he can't hear me; I just need to get this fear and anger out. "You... fucking..." I don't even know what to call him. An idiot? Monster? I don't know. I'm just so frustrated.
I feel something lightly grab my shoulder. When I look over it's his shadow, being gentle and trying to calm me down. I take a deep breath and stop my eyes from watering.
"I know, it's just..." I growl slightly. "...why would he be so stupid?!" I ask his shadow, who backs away from me as I yell. "Why would he put himself in such a tough situation? I know he's powerful, but this is too much. Why would he put himself in such danger?" I hold my arms tightly, trying to calm down.
Alastor's shadow taps its head with its hand, like it's trying to think of how to respond to my question. Once it perks up like it knows, it moves closer to me. It points towards me, a big smile on its face.
"What about me?" I ask, confused. The shadow drops its head back, like it's frustrated. What am I not understanding. "He put himself in danger because of me? Is that what you're implying?" I ask his shadow, who jumps back to life and nods enthusiastically.
I roll my eyes. "Well duh, I know that. But it's still stupid. He should've asked for help. Brought Husk, or Charlie. Someone!" The doors finally open and we're back on the ground floor. As I walk, I keep talking to his shadow. "He can't be risking his eternal life for friends like me, that's stupid." I mutter.
His shadow grabs my shirt and roughly pulls me back, which surprises me. When I look back, his shadow looks angry. Is it mad at what I said?
"What?" I question with a little bit of a bite in my tone. "I'm not wrong!" I argue. "He shouldn't! How many times is he going to jump into battle for his friends?!" I question his shadow.
The shadow drastically shakes its head at me, like something I said was incorrect. His shadow doesn't have pupils, just empty eye sockets. So, to emphasize what it wants to show, it rolls its entire head, like the most dramatic eye roll I've ever seen.
"What do I have wrong? Spit it out!" I continue arguing with his shadow, my arms out like a mad woman.
The shadow drastically motions towards itself with both arms, then puts both arms out towards me. After that it makes a little heart shape with its hands, a big smile on its face.
Is his shadow saying what I think it's saying?
"Are you saying... Alastor doesn't view me as just a friend?" I tilt my head as I ask.
The shadow dramatically nods, using its whole body in the process.
"So, then what? Alastor would view me as-" Before I can finish my sentence, I hear his voice.
"I do want to discuss this with you." I feel frozen hearing his staticky voice behind me. Shit! How long has he been there? How much did he hear?! When I turn around, I can see that he's tired and a bit beaten up. He's bleeding! Are those bullet wounds?!
"Do you think we can talk about it more back at the hotel?" Alastor asks like his personal wounds are secondary to this conversation. He's holding one of his wounds with his hand, but it's still bleeding through. I'm worried he'll pass out any second.
"Oh my-! Alast-! Yes, it can wait! We need to get you back!" I run up to him and look over his injuries. They continue to bleed. I look back over to his shadow. "Can you help us get back to the hotel?" I ask, the plea in my voice evident.
Without nodding, his shadow floats over to us and covers both of us in its warm darkness. Before I know it, we're back in the hotel. More specifically, back in his hotel room.
"Thank you." I say quietly to his shadow, who smiles and vanishes back into the wall.
"Sit down, please." I gently guide Alastor to his bed, where he slowly follows my instructions. He takes a seat on the bed and begins taking his coat off. I help pull it off and hang it up. I look back over at Alastor and see the holes through his shirt.
"Shirt needs to come off, mister." I say sternly. Alastor's ears twitch as he looks at me wide eyed. His cute little gestor makes me smile but I also roll my eyes. "So I can see the injuries, silly boy." I explain.
"Have you seen me shirtless before?" Alastor asks, his eyes still a bit wide. I can't believe he's asking this as he's still bleeding!
"Well... kind of?" I say it more like a question, which makes Alastor tilt his head. "I saw you wrapped in bandages after Lucifer patched you up when you fought Adam. When you woke up and I startled you, remember?" I shake my head. "This is beyond the point, Alastor! Seriously!" I motion towards his wounds. "If you don't do it, you'll pass out and I'll do it for you. So, please." I soften up a bit.
I think he finally sees my point as he sighs. He looks away from me and unbuttons his shirt, slowly pulling it off and handing it to me.
I hang it next to his jacket. He still hasn't made eye contact with me since he handed me his shirt. I want to address his discomfort, but I really do need to take a look at his injuries first.
I lean in a bit closer and start examining the injured areas. It doesn't look like there are any remaining bullet fragments. They must have gone straight through. That's a good sign at least.
I know where he stores a few things in his room. I walk over to his bathroom and open the cabinet, finding towels and washcloths. I quickly drench them in the sink while I pull out the alcohol from below his sink. When I walk back into the room, he's finally laying in the bed. I notice how he still isn't looking at me.
"I can't believe you'd be this indecently dressed in front of a lady, Alastor." I tease with a smirk on my face as I make it back to his bedside. This makes his head snap in my direction.
"You're the one who told me to take the shirt off!" Alastor argues, his ears back against his head due to the frustration of the situation. This makes me laugh.
"Perfect." My statement seems to have confused Alastor. I look at him with a smile. "I didn't want this to change things between us. Had to lighten the mood." I explain before sighing. "This is going to hurt a bit. You ready?" I ask.
Alastor's smile seems more genuine. He's a bit more relaxed. He nods. "Thank you, (y/n). For everything."
