Odd Night

It’s 9 p.m and I just got home. I went to the mall with Kayden and did some shopping after school. I bought some new clothes for me and mum, and some accessories. It was exhausting, but fun. I didn’t spend a lot of money because apparently Kayden helped me with the cash. And then she invited me to join her to watch Skyfall in the cinema, as a return she promised me to drive me home after movies. I couldn’t refuse, so I spent a quiet joyful time with Kayden today. She’s a fun, caring, and loving person. I love her, and I guess it’s safe to say that Kayden is the first best friend I have in London.

My flat is not far from mum's. Well, literally. She said she would need her own privacy since the divorce so she bought two apartment rooms. I’m on the fourth floor and mum is on the third. It’s a good thing to have my own flat I suppose. But I am not always right. At a time like this, I really need someone to talk to, and the right person is my mum.

I’m instantly reminded of the guy in the class, and Hayley. How in the world could she say that he is dangerous? He's the most beautiful creature I've ever seen. I quickly pull a piece of paper from my   pocket and dial the number that’s written carefully on it.

“Hello?” says a girl on the other line.

“Hey, it’s Sarah. I was wondering if we could manage to meet up tomorrow at The Riding House Café, It’s the closest café to my house”

“Okay, I’ll see you tomorrow at 9”

“See you Hayhay” I reply, laughing. She doesn’t respond and just hang up.

I drop my shopping bags on the floor then swiftly open my laptop and go on facebook and twitter while lying on the couch. I quickly send a group message on facebook to my old friends.

Hey girls!

It’s getting better here, I finally met a new friend! Her name is Kayden. She’s sweet though, but at some point she’s a little bit weird. She seems to have reading thoughts ability, but she said she can’t read mine. And I met this guy, he always sticks to his sunglasses, like he can’t get away from it. But today at the class, he pulled it off and we both stared at each other! Akdbffsdf oh my god, he was so beautiful! By the way, how were your days? Miss you guys lots! Xoxo

And for the rest of the time, I mostly just look at my facebook news feed and twitter timeline and get in touch with a few online friends. Bored, I leave my laptop still open on the table to go take a relaxing hot bath.

On the half way to the bathroom, something strange is happening. The electricity is suddenly switched off, and something in the kitchen falls from its place and shattered into pieces. I immediately prone and crawl calmly to the living room to grab a flashlight. I turn it on, then look for the circuit breaker to fix everything. After I find it, I see a single red switch.

“Damn it, I’m sweating too much” I groan; noticing that I have a fear of dark. I quickly wipe the sweats away with my sleeves and without anymore preamble, I pull the switch back up, so the electricity gets back on. I let out a sigh of relief, and then I walk to the kitchen and clean up the broken glasses. I eventually make my way to go for a bath.

While in bath, another strange thing happens. I get a feeling that I'm seeing a dark shadowed creature rapidly moves across the window behind the curtain. “Wh-who’s that?!” I stuttered. I quickly get out of bath and reach for a towel. I carefully walk through the cold floor with my bare feet, closer to the window to look who it was. I open the curtain with carefully, worrying if something would pop up to surprise me. All my worries are gone when I see nothing else than thousands of lights from the buildings in the city and stars that beautify the mischievous night sky. I swiftly close the curtain and walk out of bathroom to my wardrobe and wear my pajamas. “Was it just my imagination? It felt so real" I whisper to myself.

Before I'm crawling up to bed, I sent a quick messages to my old friends through facebook about what just happened. "I think I’d better sleep” I say to myself as I shut down my laptop and walk up to my bed. I swiftly pull up the blanket and before I knew it, I'm already fast asleep.... Until the dark came into my dream, turning it into a nightmare....
