Kyo arrived home to an unusually quiet house. The clock on the wall showed it was approaching 8 PM, and typically the house was still abuzz with activity. "Hello?" he called out, his voice echoing through the emptiness.
There was no response. He furrowed his brow and made his way up the stairs. Passing by Tohru's room, he knocked gently on the door. "Tohru, are you in there?" he asked, but again, he was met with silence.
A hint of concern crept over him. He pushed the door open slightly and peered inside. The room was dark, the only light coming from the hallway casting a thin line across the floor. As his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he spotted Tohru lying on the bed, curled up on her side. Her breathing was soft and rhythmic, indicating she was fast asleep.
Kyo felt a pang of guilt but wanted to ensure she was alright. He sat on the edge of the bed and gently shook her shoulder. "Tohru," he said softly.
Her eyes fluttered open slowly, and she blinked a few times, trying to focus. When she finally saw Kyo, a sleepy smile spread across her face. "Kyo," she murmured, her voice drowsy and warm.
"Hey," Kyo replied with a tender smile. "Looks like you fell asleep."
Tohru rubbed her eyes and mumbled, "Oh, I didn't realize I was so tired. I must have dozed off."
Kyo's smile widened. "You must have needed the rest." He brushed a stray strand of hair from her face, tucking it behind her ear. "You feeling alright?"
Tohru leaned into his chest, feeling comforted by his presence. "I'm okay. Just a bit sleepy," she said softly.
Kyo's arms wrapped around her, providing a sense of warmth and security. "Have you had dinner yet?" he asked.
She shook her head, her voice muffled against his chest. "Not yet. It was just going to be me, so I didn't rush."
Kyo nodded, his arms holding her close. "Are you hungry now?"
Tohru nodded against him, her voice still sleepy.
"I can cook something if you'd like," Kyo offered, his voice gentle.
Tohru shook her head again. "No, it's okay. I'll start cooking once I'm more awake. It's no trouble."
"Take your time," Kyo said softly. He enjoyed these quiet moments with Tohru, especially when she relied on him for comfort.
After a while, Tohru began to stir more awake. Kyo excused himself to take a quick shower. When he returned downstairs, he was dressed casually in gray sweatpants and a dark green hoodie. His orange hair was still damp and tousled from the towel.
He wandered into the kitchen, where Tohru was now focused on preparing dinner. Kyo admired how at ease she was, moving with practiced grace. He approached her from behind, wrapping his arms around her waist.
"Hey, you," he whispered softly into her ear.
Tohru shivered slightly at the cool touch of his damp hair against her neck. She turned her head and smiled up at him. "Hey," she whispered back.
Kyo's hand gently cupped her chin, tilting her face towards him. "I missed you today," he murmured as he leaned in and pressed a tender kiss to her lips. The kiss was sweet and gentle, but soon turned deeper, their emotions intensifying.
Tohru responded eagerly, turning to face him fully. Kyo pressed his body against hers, his hands roaming down her torso. She shivered with pleasure as their kisses grew more fervent.
Kyo carefully lifted her, guiding her to sit on the kitchen counter. He spread her legs gently to get closer to her, his kisses moving to her neck. The soft, breathy sounds she made sending a wave of heat through him.
