Storm realized that he had a cut on his hand and it was bleeding, she headed to the kitchen to check for the first aid kit.
After digging around, she was finally glad to find it and hurried back to the living room. She dropped it by the couch and went up to him.
He was looking at her and seemed to not care that she was in front of him. She took his hand, and even though he was reluctant, she managed to get him to the couch.
"What the fuck is it again?"
"Your hand, it's bleeding."
For the first time, he looked at his hand. "So what?"
"I got a first aid kit."
"I don't need it, it will heal soon."
"Don't make this difficult Chase, you can carry on with your drinking whilst I nurse your wound."
"Suit yourself."
She took out some spirits and cotton; she began to dab softly on his wound. She looked at his face, worried that she might be hurting him.
He did not seem to care, nor did he flinch or was in pain, but she caught his eyes and held her breath.
She shook her head and looked away. What was she doing? This was not the time to have those thoughts, not after she had kissed Jeremy.
Storm looked back at his hand and carried on nursing him, but Chase's hand went under her chin and tilted her face upwards.
She knew that she was blushing painfully at the way he was staring at her. Her mouth went dry and tried to calm her heart.
"You still get embarrassed at the smallest affection, cute."
"Don't toy with me."
"I'm not, I do miss you."
Her eyes widened at his confession. "You do?" she asked carefully.
"I do. Do you miss me?"
"I do miss you a lot, Chase."
He leaned in and placed a soft light kiss on her lips, and pulled back, "But it would have never worked."
"What do you mean?" She asked, confused.
"So many are against us and they already have someone in mind for me to marry that will strengthen our pack."
"Is that why you dumped me?"
"That was part of it."
"What was the other part Chase?"
"I was losing myself because of you."
"How so?"
"All my friends said I was acting like a completely different person."
"Isn't that the whole point?"
"Not really at times."
"Our relationship has nothing to do with others, just you and me is all that matters."
"That is easy for you to say. You're not the leader."
"So you're going to marry for convenience, but not for love."
"Leading my pack is what is important to me."
"I guess I was not important enough for you."
"You were Storm, too much, that is why I had to let you go."
"So why bring me here? Everyone would find out and think we are back together."
"Protecting you is a big priority to me, even though we aren't together."
"So you do care about me."
"I do, even though months have gone by, I do think about us."
"I still love you Chase."
"I know."
"Do you?"
"The way you look at me is different from the way you look at Jeremy."
"So, why were you jealous? You know very well that you're the only one that I saw."
"As I said, some things are complicated and having the right fiancé, is a very big priority."
"I get it. I don't want to go through this pain again."
"Unless you're fine being on the sidelines."
"Are you kidding me right now Chase?"
"Nope, that is the only way I can take you Storm.
"What do you take me for, Chase? What am I to you exactly?"
He shrugged, "Never mind then."
"You are unbelievable."
She threw the cotton down and made her way to her room. She was fuming.
