Singe and Lute walked through the streets of Heaven, Lute getting a few looks here and there due to not only her lack of a halo but also her single wing. Lute tried to not let it get to her but failed, and Singe could see the tension in her.
Singe brought herself a little closer to Lute as if trying to use herself as a shield to block out all the judgmental looks and side-eyed glances. Lute subconsciously leaned into Singe's winged embrace, running her hand through the soft feathers and basking in the warm glow of Singe's halo.
Singe led Lute to the address on the coupons and was met with a small building, and when they stepped inside, saw that the interior looked like a big garden, with a pool of water in the center. Birds flew around, comfortable beds were placed under some willow trees and a small waterfall sent a mist throughout the area. In one corner of the room, a small pit of mud bubbled quietly.
A woman walks up to the couple. She had long wavy hair, and a calm aura around her, "Welcome to the Extermination Spa, where we exorcise your stress with our blades of relaxation."
Lute and Singe both tensed up at the name of the Spa, but didn't make any comment.
"We have two coupons for a free spa day. This is the right place, right?" Singe handed the two slips of paper over to the lady at the front desk.
"You're in the right spot! Come on in and feel your stress just pour out of your mind."
Lute looked at Singe and nodded, before she walked into the indoor garden area. She walked closer to the waterfall and unfurled her wing, letting the cool mist spray onto it.
It had been the first time Singe had seen Lute's wing since she lost her other one. The feathers were still ripped and the membrane was torn from Dolores' brutal attack on Singe's birthday.
Singe walked over to Lute and started preening the bent and broken feathers with her hands. Singe was the only person allowed to touch Lute's wings, and vice versa.
The rest of the day was spent relaxing in each other's company. Massaging each other, laying in the mud baths, washing off in the pond, and simply basking in each other's company and presence.
