Life finally fell in place for the new couple. They moved back to their own apartment below the SEVENTEEN dorm and thus began their own routine which included baby burps, diaper change and milk bottles. However life became even more hectic for Inha after she came back home. Once she decided to file a complaint for physical abuse, a case was registered and she had to visit the police station along with her lawyer Taha. They took photos of the abuse meted on her body to further strengthen the case for the trial that was going against Kim Sumi, her stepmom.
By now the whole country was interested in the case. The head of the biggest pharmaceutical industry suing his own wife for embezzling funds and requesting the court to look into his late wife's death got the whole nation hooked to the trial. On top of that, once Inha decided to approach the prosecution with a complaint of abuse, it only created more frenzy around the Kangs. The general public, especially CARATS, after seeing Wonwoo's live with his wife, supported the father and daughter duo once gruesome details that weren't in favor of Kim Sumi were revealed. However the evil witch was no longer returning her summons that the court sent her. With the police on the run to find her, she was nowhere to be found. It was as if she vanished without a trace.
When Inha was out to take the necessary steps in the prosecutor’s office and the police station, Wonwoo stayed back home to take care of the babies. Initially Wonwoo's mom was supposed to help the couple cope up with the changes of raising children, but because her husband was stabbed, she had to help him recover. Thus the responsibility of taking care of his newborns single-handedly fell upon his shoulders, yet Wonwoo did a wonderful job in adjusting to his new life as a father to two babies. Seungcheol spoke on his behalf and received permission to not take part in the group activities until the trial ends.
Eunbi also came from time to time to help Inha as she was behind her coursework. As the other room in their apartment was turned into a nursery, Inha was currently using Wonwoo's room in the SEVENTEEN dorm as her study room. Inha knew Eunbi also liked visiting her as she wasn't oblivious to the growing spark between her and Hoshi. But whenever Inha teased her friend, Eunbi always refused having had any feelings for Hoshi. But Inha knew that she was secretly pleased whenever Hoshi offered to drive her back home after their study sessions.
That particular day after Eunbi left with Hoshi, Inha made her way downstairs. The sun was just setting and Inha admired the view for a few seconds before opening the balcony door to enter her house. She found Wonwoo busy in the kitchen while one baby was in the stroller next to him while the other one was on the bouncer in their play area.
“Hey” she said, hugging her husband from behind and placing her head on his strong back.
“I missed you” Wonwoo said as he put down the knife he was using to cut vegetables.
“I missed you too,” she said, nuzzling further into his back. “What is Eunhan doing here?” she asked, looking at her son who was cooing after seeing his mother.
“Oh, I think he likes to see me cook” and Inha smiled at that.
“Hmm… "Well, how long has it been since you took a shower?” She asked Wonwoo who turned around to look at his wife. She frowned looking at his face that now had a week long stubble, unkempt hair growing like a wild mane and eye bags. This was the first time she was paying close attention to him after coming from the hospital and it pained to see him look at him that way.
“Are you saying I stink?” He said pouting.
“Go take a shower Wonwoo. I'll look after the kids. I am free now, now that I completed my essay” she reprimanded him and pushed him towards their bedroom. “Jeonghan oppa said he's going to the salon tomorrow. Make sure you book an appointment too to do something about the lion's mane” she said as he entered the bathroom.
“Girls go crazy for this hairstyle you know” he said, slicking back his bangs proudly.
“Yeah, but not this,” she said laughing. “Your fans probably won't recognise you if you go out like this. At least get a wolf cut to tame it Oppa”
“Arasseo. Don't forget to turn off the stew I was making” he said, finally closing the door.
Inha then made her way towards the kitchen to switch off the stove. She then picked Eunhan from the stroller and went near Eunhye who was smiling after seeing her mother.
“Eomma missed you both sweethearts” she said as she played with them a bit. Wonwoo then came out from the shower with wet hair wearing a fresh set of comfy oversized t-shirt and sweatpants.
“The boys were complaining that it's been weeks since they saw you. Why don't you go upstairs to pay them a visit. Meanwhile I'll have some quality time with the babies” Inha said and Wonwoo took up on her offer. It had indeed been weeks since he saw the members. With how busy they were in their own schedules and with Wonwoo taking care of the kids, it was almost impossible to see them.
“I'll go for a walk with the babies and come upstairs for dinner. Seokmin said he's making pizzas tonight”
“Sounds yumm. Okay stay safe. Have fun with the babies” Wonwoo said and made his way upstairs while Inha made the babies ready for their quality time outside. She strapped them securely in their twin stroller and pushed them out carefully.
The walk was refreshing for Inha. With how her life had taken a busy course, she was feeling bad that she wasn't spending much time with her babies. No matter how many times Wonwoo assured her, she still felt like a bad mother. She sighed happily, content with the time she was spending with her newborns. Inha was so caught up in the moment that she failed to notice a car speeding towards her and the babies. The last thing she knew was pushing the stroller away from harm's way while the car hit her.
