"WHAT THE HELL!" You screech in your room when you see the post on the obx account. They hadn't given you a call or even a text message that you've gotten the part. You found out through a post on Instagram.

You stand up from your bed and immediately run downstairs into your dads office, "Dad! Dad! Did you see?"

"What honey?" He looks up from his papers.

You show him the post and his eyes grow wide, he stands up from his desk giving you hug, "Princess I'm so proud of you!"

"I'm shocked!" You muffle against his chest. You pull away, suddenly realizing what you needed to do, "I have to call them."

"Okay honey, try to stay calm." He warns you.

"Ill try." You say, already half way up the steps, you call the casting coach and talk to the lady on the phone about the news. She tells you to meet the cast at a place called Billy's bar for a cast dinner just a few blocks down the street. You quickly grab your things and changed into a black dress before heading out the door, not caring to touch up on your makeup.

To finally meet the people you'd be spending the next few months with, felt both exciting and terrifying.

Your fingers fidgeted with the strap of your little black dress as you walked to the bar, a safe outfit choice for an evening where you hoped to make a good first impression.

Finally you were at the bar.

As you pushed the heavy door open, the lounge was buzzing with conversation and laughter. Your gaze swept across the room, searching for a familiar face.

"Mae." A voice startled you, and you turned to see a tall, lanky figure waving you over. It was Drew, his grin wide and friendly despite your rejection the other night. His hair was a tousled mess, like he'd just rolled out of bed, but somehow it suited him.

"Hey," You said, trying to hide the awkwardness by managing a smile that you hoped didn't look as strained as it felt inside.

"Come on, everyone's waiting," he said, gesturing you towards a corner booth where the rest of the cast was gathered.

Your heart thudded in your chest. There they were, JD, Madelyn, Madison, Chase, and Rudy, whose infectious laughs we're ringing through the bar.

"Mae, so glad you could make it!" Madelyn exclaimed, pulling you into a hug. Madison echoed her sentiment, her eyes holding a genuine warmth as she said hello.

You guys settled into the booth, a chaos erupting as everyone introduced themselves properly. JD was funny as promised, Madelyn and Madison were a whirlwind of energy, their conversations bouncing from one topic to the next, it was almost hard to keep up. Chase, was quieter, but his occasional comments were worth hearing. Rudy, was the life of the party, his jokes gained giggles and laughs from the entire group.

Drew, however, kept finding ways to drift the conversation back to you. He'd ask about your background, your previous acting experience, what you thought about the script, seemingly genuinely interested in your perspective. But you knew better.

As the night progressed, you realized that you and Drew would be working together the most, sharing a generous amount of the screen time, and he seemed to be all for it.

He ordered you guys a round of cocktails, his eyes darted to you considering your choice, "What are you drinking, Mae?"

You opted for a margarita, and as you waited for the drinks to arrive, you felt more at ease the more you conversed.

"So, Mae," Drew said, "I'm really looking forward to working with you on this. You have a certain... character, that I think will be perfect for this role."

"Thanks." You smile.

The evening ended with promises of future hangouts. Stepping out the bar you begin to walk back home.
