In a life like this.... Where do you even start or even fathom a beginning to this cycle?

Such a question, and yet Y/n had no answer, not that she would even answer as she wandered around her office, her head just pumping with stress as the near claustrophobic room that was her office had nothing but paperwork and boring office supplies. But the office was still a cherished place for her it would be surprising to hear that she had stayed loyal to her employers for 5 years.

And yet all of that is thrown out the window with a move out, and relocated to a new place, not exactly a great thing for her since she wanted a promotion, she expected as such when she heard, but they never told her that she would be moved to another place, and for a new employee who was a younger, more hopeful woman.

But it was weird for Y/n, seeing a young face, a more naive, even hopeful one in the bland scape of workers, and yet, Y/n hoped nothing but the best, which was ironic seeing how she heard multiple stories of people raising a fuss and taking it out on the new blood of the company.

Maybe it was the weariness, or probably how much Y/n grown tired of an office that was lonely, a familiar yet dull place where she tried to connect with other people and got turned down. But she still managed to create a few friends, all of them were less than happy to see Y/n leave the office though they had a blast seeing her off after having a small celebration.

Though if there was one thing she wanted to go, she would have wanted to see the last place on her little bucket list before she would have to leave, with boxes packed, her home picked apart and lifeless with nothing that could ever indicate that she was around. It still sucked a bit, having to move, that small bittersweet feeling, still bitter about being replaced, but a bit hopeful at the prospect of having a clean slate, possibly a new environment.

And off she went, pulling up to the driveway before she did the small security check required and entered in to the museum, it was rather nice to see the insides of the large place that was home to artifacts and fossils of early life long before the age of humanity became the top of the food chain, superior in coming together to thrive. To live comfortably, though now today in the present, their own predators.

Seeing the cleanliness of the place, the exhibits, the excitement she felt seeing lifelike statues, reconstructed dinosaurs that were realistic and yet inaccurate as reference to when humans had tried hard to piece together what they could have looked like.

It was like wonderland, though instead of kooky places, weird talking creatures or grinning cats, it was like seeing glimpses of the past, seeing the theory of evolution and the reconstruction of early humans, more like their cousins hundreds and thousands of years ago, migrating everywhere, the ability to survive, the ability to sweat, even the ability to think complex systems and survive to become the creatures that human beings are today.

Y/n smiled at the exhibits of early humans, seeing them more monkey like, more animalistic than humans today, their loss of tails, the changed of their feet to be use for walking instead of holding onto things, their bodies taller and upright, the different species that once were around but died out, the Neanderthals, the hobbits or floresiensis, and homo rudolfensis.

As she wandered around she soon stumbled upon an exhibit, it was dark and the hallway lights were off instead of the others, Y/n only tilted her head, curiosity seeped into her mind before she walked off into the dark hallway, thinking that it was some sort of special exhibit.

Unknowingly to her, she had missed the crucial detail of the 'Do Not Enter' sign under the curtain that was near the hallway entrance.
