Harry watched as everyone was sorted. He was nervous, what if he wasn't sorted into the same house as his new mates? What if he was sorted into Slytherin, or Hufflepuff, or Ravenclaw... or worse, wasn't sorted at all. He sat on the stool, and allowed the hat to be placed over his brow. He listened to the Hat talking in his head, paying attention as the hat debated. It drug on for what felt like hours but was merely 30 minutes, until finally the Hat shouted out, "Gryffindor!" Harry sighed softly, before rushing off to his mates. He trusted them, and so he was more then happy to be near them. He sat in between them, and listened with half an ear as everyone else was sorted. He leaned into Fred, closing his eyes, as the Headmaster began speaking. His head hurt when he looked near that dark headed professor, but he wasn't sure why. He jumped slightly when George gently nudged him to start eating. He took a small bite of his salad, and hummed. He loved veggies, more often then not he was given the ones Dudley refused to eat. He loved broccoli, and carrots, and spinach. He ate his small salad quietly, ignoring the meat. He knew his stomach would not handle the meat very well at all. He listened to his mates as they joked around, and he felt a little safer. He knew that for now at least, he was safe. He finished his small salad, and watched as everything was magically cleaned away, and replaced with desserts. He watched as everyone grabbed helpings of something, but Harry merely watched. Fred put a small helping of some sort of toffee on Harry's plate. Harry looked at him, before taking a small bite, only to hum in enjoyment. "This is really good, thank you." Harry whispered quietly. Fred nodded, as all three of them ate their desserts quietly. After everyone finished eating, and the plates had been cleared, Dumbledore began making a speech. He droned on for a few moments, before asking everyone to start singing, Harry listened as the twins sang in a dreary tone, smiled. He joined in, matching their tone as best he could, and sang the words that magically hovered above everyone's head. Finally the Headmaster sent everyone off to their dorm rooms, and Harry followed Percy and the rest of the first years to bed.
