The next morning, I woke up with a fever, I get irritated and moody when I am sick or on my periods. Beau checked my temperature and called his helper to get me medicines and food. He sat beside me and made sure I ate all my food and took medicine. He called Trever to take care of the work, and I went to sleep. I slept for some hours and when I woke up again, it was already evening. My fever had gone down, and Beau was sitting on the sofa and working beside me.

I looked at him and said, "Are you working?"

He closed the laptop and hopped on the bed. He replied, "I was just handling some work and trying to make the investment safer for you. If one day, I fucking die or something happens, God forbid, I don't want to make it difficult for you."

"Don't talk about dying!" I replied. I could not imagine him dying at all. Truth to be told, I don't even know how being a mafia works for him. "Tell me something more about what you do" I asked.

"I kill people and traffic guns. Sometimes we gamble and extortion. But I do have some morals and ground rules." He replied.

When I thought of getting laid with him again and forgetting about his job, I had expected this. His reply did not shock me at all. I looked at him with no emotion, just a blank face with no reply to that.

"Are you scared?" he questioned.

"Not anymore." I replied. I paused for a few seconds and questioned him, "Do you actually like me? Are we just hooking up with no future ahead of us?"

"Of course I like you. You are the only woman I have ever been close with. Usually, I slept and left women. They had no idea of what I did and who I was. You, my love, you are different."

"How am I any different from any of those women?" I asked.

"You are my love, you are." He replied looking at me, he came close to me and kissed me on my head and continued saying, "Do you remember three years ago at the Palm Cruise, you helped a little girl who was about to die in the swimming pool because she did not know how to swim? That girl is my younger sister. I saw you for the first time that day, my mother could not stop thinking about you and she wanted to meet you again."

"Wow! A small world we live in." I replied.

"The world is not small, love. I made every single employee of mine look for you until I found you. While some incident happened at home, I invested in your business to keep myself updated. For me, it was love at first sight. You are sweet and nice while the world does not work that way." He said

I was curious, so I questioned, "What incident?"

He stayed silent for some seconds and replied, "There is our business rival in Russia, Pablo. My father, David and Pablo's father, Dimitri, were good friends when they were young. Unfortunately, Dimitri wanted my father's business, so he killed my father and took his deals. I was young, around sixteen, when I held the gun for the first time. I had to handle his business and get trained. I had a family to protect from Dimitri. At the age of twenty-three, I shot six bullets on Dimitri's chest, piecing his heart in front of Pablo, and then I shot his mother as well. I heard every single sound of my bullet and the screams of his family. Pablo was fifteen, so I let him go. But, he wanted revenge and killed my mother and sister when I was away for work."

I looked at him, and he was on the verge of crying and letting his emotions out. His eyes wanted revenge. Even though I did not go through his situation, I could understand where he was coming from. I hugged him and said, "You can cry and grieve all you want today, but you need to be stronger and fight back tomorrow."

I changed the topic and asked him, "By the way, how old are you?"

"Twenty-nine, I am twenty-nine, love. Five years elder than you." He said.
