While Jin was mentally spiraling, trying to figure out how to escape the terrifying situation, Jungkook’s cold, silent stare never wavered. His eyes were locked on Jin, reading every nervous fidget and awkward movement as if assessing a fragile little rabbit caught in the wolf’s den.

Jin, oblivious to the fact that he was being observed so intensely, continued his inner monologue. "Should I fake a faint? No, that’s too dramatic. Maybe I could... no, that won’t work either—"

Meanwhile, Ken and Ren exchanged uneasy glances before leaning closer to Jungkook. They hesitated for a moment, knowing their boss didn’t appreciate interruptions, but this wasn’t something they could ignore. Ren cleared his throat, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Boss," he started, "you’re gonna wanna hear this."

Jungkook’s expression didn’t shift, but his sharp eyes flickered toward Ren, silently urging him to continue.

Ken took over, his voice hushed as he glanced at Jin. "That kid... he’s Kim Taehyung’s brother."

For the first time since entering the alley, something flashed in Jungkook’s dark eyes—surprise. It was brief, but it was there. Kim Taehyung's brother? Jungkook’s gaze subtly sharpened as he processed the information. Of all people, the brother of his most dangerous enemy was standing before him, completely unaware of the storm brewing around him.

Jin, still completely lost in his internal panic, remained oblivious to the revelation. He fidgeted nervously, throwing occasional glances at Jungkook, trying to gauge if the gangster was about to throw him into a pit of doom or something equally terrifying. "Why does he keep staring? Is it the hair? Oh no... do I have something on my face?"

"Wait! Is my face ruined after falling down? No way!"

Jungkook, however, was far from concerned about Jin’s hair or face at that moment. His mind was racing with thoughts of the dangerous connection. "Kim Taehyung... so, this is his little brother?"

It was ironic. Jin had unknowingly walked straight into the lion’s den, and the lion was now considering his next move. Jungkook’s cold demeanor remained unshaken, but inwardly, a flicker of interest sparked. He didn’t let on that the revelation changed anything, instead turning his attention back to Jin, who was still clearly unaware of the perilous situation he was truly in.

With a slight tilt of his head, Jungkook took another puff of his cigarette, exhaling smoke as he spoke, his voice low and unreadable. "Kim Taehyung’s brother, huh?"

Jin blinked, his thoughts screeching to a halt as he realized he was being addressed. "W-What?" He awkwardly chuckled, nervously scratching the back of his neck. "Who’s that?"

Jungkook’s gaze darkened. He could see the cluelessness in Jin’s eyes, and it amused him just how unaware Jin was of his own dangerous ties. This was getting more interesting by the second.

"You're terrible at lying, so stop it." Jungkook said.

Jin froze, his smile vanishing the moment Jungkook knelt down to his level. The sudden closeness made his heart race for all the wrong reasons. Jungkook’s face was expressionless, but there was a glint in his eyes that sent a shiver down Jin’s spine—teasing, cold, and dangerous.

The scent of cigarettes made Jin scrunch his nose, but that was the least of his worries now. Jungkook grabbed his chin with a firm, almost possessive grip, tilting his head so their eyes met directly. Jin swallowed nervously as the gangster’s deep, icy voice pierced the silence.

"Your brother is my sworn enemy, princess." The way Jungkook said 'princess' made Jin cringe inwardly, but he was too terrified to retort. "I’ve been hunting him for ages, and now, guess what... his biggest weakness just came walking right up in front of me."
