Jungkook watched in silence as Ken and Ren led Jin downstairs, his cold gaze never wavering. He briefly wondered if he'd just invited trouble into his den. Jin had no fear—or at least didn’t show any—just sass and endless chatter. That was a dangerous mix in a place like this.
As they walked, Jin strolled casually, glancing around like a tourist in a museum. The underground space, though dimly lit, was sleek and filled with a certain rich aura, the type of luxury you'd never expect in a hideout. But that didn’t impress Jin.
"Wow," Jin said, his voice full of false awe. "Though this place is beautiful and rich... it's smaller than I imagined. Really small. My bathroom’s bigger than this." He waved a hand nonchalantly, as if it was just another rich person's house.
Ken, stifling a grin, replied dryly, "That’s 'cause this ain’t a mansion, genius. Boss keeps people here he’s captured. Don’t think you’re on some park tour."
"Huh?" Jin blinked, as if that idea had genuinely never crossed his mind. "So... it’s like a secret hideout or something?"
"Yep," Ren chimed in with a smirk. "Also the place where Boss loves to kill his victims."
Jin froze mid-step, his eyes widening in horror. "Wait—do his what?"
Ren couldn’t resist his chuckle, enjoying the way Jin’s confidence faltered for the first time. "Kill his victims, you heard right."
Jin’s eyes widened in shock as Ken’s words finally sank in. He stopped walking, his dramatic gasp echoing through the dimly lit hallway.
"Wait, hold on a second... victims?" Jin exclaimed, his voice rising in panic. "As in, he kills people here? Am I about to die too? Is that why you’re feeding me? Is this some ‘last meal’ situation?!"
Ken smirked at Jin's over-the-top reaction. "Relax, kid. If Boss wanted you dead, you’d already be dead. You’re still breathing, aren’t you?" he said casually, clearly enjoying Jin’s growing fear.
Jin gulped, looking between Ken and Ren nervously. "Yeah, but I thought maybe you were just waiting for the ramen to cook or something before... you know, doing the deed." He mimicked a throat-slashing motion with his hand, his eyes wide with mock horror.
Ren chuckled. "Boss doesn’t waste food, kid. If you’re eating, you’re staying alive—for now."
"Great... super comforting," Jin muttered sarcastically. He continued walking but now with more caution, glancing nervously at the dark walls around him. "But for the record, I’m too handsome to die. And my hyung would be really upset. Like, he’d make sure none of you would ever have a peaceful nap again."
Ken raised an eyebrow. "You really think your brother’s gonna come for you?"
Jin puffed out his chest, trying to sound confident despite the pit in his stomach. "Oh, absolutely. My hyung... let’s just say, he doesn’t play around when it comes to me."
Ren rolled his eyes but couldn’t hide his amusement. "Well, if Taehyung shows up, it’ll be one hell of a showdown. Until then, just eat your ramen and keep quiet, pretty boy."
Jin tried to maintain his composure, but the thought of being stuck in a gangster’s hideout with a boss who liked to kill people wasn’t exactly reassuring. He sighed dramatically, "Why does this stuff always happen to me? I just wanted some food, not to end up in a villain's lair."
Ken and Ren led him to a small room with a table and some food set out. Jin eyed the ramen carefully, poking it with his chopsticks before looking up at them again. "This better not be poisoned. I’m telling you, if this is some kind of ‘evil plot,’ I’m suing everyone here."
