POV Y/N

"Come on, Y/NN. The party started an hour ago!" Wanda scolded me.
Being late wasn't her thing and stressed her out, but I really wanted this moment. No, I needed this moment.
"Calm down, Wanda, nobody comes to a party on time," I replied and stepped out of the bathroom.
"Wow, Nat was right. Do you really want to go to the party like this?" she asked, looking at me in surprise.
"Yes, I do. I look great," I answered confidently.
"Other people will think that too, Y/NN," she said with a worried look.
I knew what she was alluding to, but I didn't care.
"Come on, let's go. The crowd is waiting," I said, laughing, ignoring her objection.
I linked arms with her and together we walked towards the living room where the party was taking place. I spotted many familiar faces, but also unfamiliar ones, as we entered the large door.
Wanda broke away from me and went to Vision, who was sitting at a table away from the party.
I, on the other hand, made a beeline for the bar and ordered a gin and tonic.
Not without noticing the looks on me, of course, but I wasn't interested in them.
It was only the effect of these looks that spiked my interest.
I stood next to Nat so as not to end up in unpleasant company and leaned towards her, grinning widely.
"Hey, Nat," I greeted her happily.
"You really haven't changed your outfit, Y/NN?" she asked with mock horror.
"Of course not," I answered with a wink.
She gently stroked my arm.
"You look great, but I think I'll go," she said to me, sipping her drink.
She didn't look at me while saying that. Instead her eyes were fixated behind me, before she took her drink and left.
I turned around in surprise and saw Barnes coming towards me with an angry look.
He leaned against the bar next to me and spoke to me without looking me in the face.
It seemed like it took him everything he had to keep his cool.
His tension and anger radiated through me, but instead of feeling afraid, it only spurred me on.
"What the fuck are you doing, Y/N?" he asked, growling.
"What am I doing, Barnes? I'm just enjoying my drink.", I said, batting my eyelashes at him innocently.
He turned his head towards me and looked at me for the first time this evening.
His eyes were full of pure anger.
I had him exactly where I wanted him.
"You could have just come naked. Everyone is staring at you anyway as if you were.," he spat at me pissed.
We hated each other since day one and yet he behaved as if I were his property. Something only he could have.
I just laughed at him arrogantly before leaning towards him, brushing his cheeks softly with my lips, whispering in his ear.
"Maybe I will end up naked tonight, but YOU won't be the one to see it."

Winking at him, I left my seat and strutted over to the other Avengers to join them.
I deliberately sat down next to Steve because I knew he had had his eye on me since the day I got here.
He just had too much respect for his friendship with Barnes to say anything.
But I knew that, even though he would never admit it, Barnes was going crazy when I was around Steve.

I felt hands grasping my wrists and opened my eyes in shock.
Stark was crouching in front of me, looking at me worriedly.
They can't notice that I was gradually getting my memories back.
At least not until I had them completely back.
"What are you doing?" I asked, trying to hide the fact that I was a little out of breath.
"Are you okay?" he asked with relief in his eyes and exhaled deeply.
"Yes, why shouldn't I be okay?" I replied and looked at him in mock confusion.
"Your pulse rose immeasurably and you were sitting there with your hands pressed to your head like a madwoman, Y/N," he answered me.
"That's nothing to worry about, Stark," I spat at him a bit to annoyed and stood up to leave the closet. "I'd like to change, so would you be so kind as to leave?" I said, without looking at him.
When I saw Barnes standing in the doorway, I felt strange.
The heat rose to my head and my pulse started racing again.
This memory only raised more questions about him, but above all, I had questions about the relationship I had with him.

Stark closed the door behind me and left me alone so that I could change into something else.
After all, I had been wearing the same clothes since yesterday morning and was starting to feel disgusting.
I put my fresh clothes under my arm and disappeared into my bathroom to shower and freshen up, then I got dressed again and strolled into the main living room.
Strangely, I found no one there and asked F.R.I.D.A.Y. what time it was, who promptly told me that it was only 8 p.m.
So I sat down on the big sofa and made myself comfortable while I waited for the others to appear.
Someone would have to show up at some point, I thought.
