An old, frail woman was sitting inherhouse, tired and bored. She had seen too many faces, but they hadall faded, leaving without her, leaving her all alone. Soalone. No one has called or visited her in so many years. Shefelt so alone.

She watched the television now, watching old reruns, trying to retain some sense of sanity within hermuddled head. Sometimes she forgets what it feels like to talkto a person, to feel happiness, to feel connected. Now, she onlyfelt uselessness. I'm no longer needed, shethinks. I'm just taking up space now.

Sometimeswhen she watched the television, she would picture herself in thestories, often confusing their stories with that of her own. She hadforgotten what life was before she became like this. She forgot thatshe was a schoolteacher, that she had once fought in two wars topreserve the future of humanity, that she had helped Simon the Diggergrasp hold of his destiny and defeat both the Spiral King Lordgenomeand the menace that was the Anti-Spiral. She had lost all of thisand became just another character in one of her sitcoms. Sure, shelaughed, but that was only a pale imitation of a true emotion. Justas she was only a pale imitation of a true human.

Thetelevision suddenly shut off. Yoko sighed and got up to fix it. Walking the few feet to the television took ages; her body wasnot what it used to be, that's for sure. However, she neededthe television, it was her only hope. She finally reached thetelevision set; it was the antenna again. She straightened itand as she was walking back to the chair in which she spent most ofher time, she remembered the old days, fighting Beastmen andAnti-Spirals. She smiled, remembering Simon, with his goofysmile and his determination to never back down from a fight. Sheremembered Leeron, always coming up with solutions to all theirproblems and scaring Gimmy and Darry. She remembered Dayakka, andKittan, and Rossiu, and even Viral.

And then sheremembered him. Kamina. The love of her life. Sheremembered his blue hair, his sparkling and sensitive eyes, and hiswill to never let anything get in the way of him and his goal. Thatwas why she needed to turn on the television. She needed to escapeher nightmare, the nightmare that she couldn't save him. Thenightmare of him dying before she could tell him that she truly lovedhim. She would sometimes hallucinate and see him in real life, staring at her from right outside her window. In fact, she saw himright now. And Simon was there too, but he was a kid again. And sowas Kittan and the rest of Team Dai-Gurren. This was strange; shecould have swore she was awake.

It was in that moment whenthe window shattered and hundreds upon hundreds of tiny littlefragments fell to the ground, along with a confused Simon. Simonquickly got up and, dusting the broken glass off his shirt, smirkedat Yoko. Yoko sighed, realizing why she was seeing them now.

"Goodjob, Simon! Now that's using your head!" Kamina crawledthrough the window, followed by the rest of the gang.

"Youdo know there was a door, right?" said Yoko, smirkingsarcastically.

"Wait, you're not surprised I'mhere?" asked a slightly confused Kamina.

"Notreally," shrugged Yoko. "I knew I was going to die soon, and that you would probably be the one to take me. So take me." She held her hands out for him. "Go on."

Kamina staredat her for a moment, but then burst out laughing. Yoko looked at himquizzically, only to be swept into his arms to her immediatesurprise. "You didn't think I was going to break my promise, did you?"

"Wait, what?" stuttered a befuddled Yoko.

"I told you I would repay you ten times over for thatkiss," Kamina grabbed her by her shoulders. "And when Isay something, I mean it." He reached his head down and kissed hersoftly, his lips gently brushing against hers. How she hadlonged for that feeling again. As he pulled away, he looked ather and smiled. "By the way, did I ever mention that you had amighty fine body?"

Startled, Yoko was about to disagree, about to say that her body was not what it used to be and that Kaminashould not have kissed an old hag like her, but all those words fellout of her mouth when she looked down. When she looked down atherself, she saw that she had somehow returned to the body of heryouth, when she was a young, beautiful, red-haired bombshell of awoman. Before she could ask what happened, she was once again caughtin the kiss of her blue-haired prince. But this time, instead ofbacking away, she laid into it. She felt the sweet, tender groovesof his lips comforting; she felt her heart beating. Smiling into thekiss, she realized that she was alive again. She was Yoko again.

"AHEM!"

Yoko and Kamina suddenly looked up,startled. Kittan was standing in the doorway, with the rest ofTeam-Gurren poking their heads through the doorway and making kissingnoises.

"I hate to barge in on your wholeromance 'thing', but we got some work to do," said Kittan.

"You're just jealous 'cause Yoko'sall about Kamina again," sneered Artenborough, causing the other tolaugh and Kittan to blush.

"No, I'm definitely not-" Kittanwas interrupted by the feeling of smooth lips embracing his. Thelips soon left his, leaving him in a state of shock.

"Better?" asked Yoko, teasingly.

"Yeah," said Kittan. "I'm inHeaven now..."

Suddenly Yoko punched Kittan acrossthe room. "That was for dieing like a hero!" she shouted, dusting off her shoulders.

"I deserved that," said Kittan, weakly raising his hand, which fell to the ground shortly after.

Yoko smirked, but then looked down ather body. "But really guys, what happened? Why am I likethis again?"

"Hey, don't complain," said Kamina. "Simon did you a little favor with his Spiral Power!"

Scratching his neck, Simon spoke up,"It was kinda by acciden-" Kamina grabbed his lips before hecould say any more.

Laughing awkwardly, Kamina continued,"Like I said, it was a gift!"

"Spiral Power?" sheasked. "Alright, give me an update."

Lordgenome stepped forward. "Allowme," he said, bowing.

...

After about an hour of debriefing, aswell as Kittan and Kamina seemingly fighting for Yoko's affection,Yoko was finally fully educated on Simon's new gift and the problemwhich now faced them.

"So, what's the plan?" asked Yoko.

"I'll tell ya what the plan is!"says Kittan.

"Sure, when she asks, you tell herthe plan," sulks Simon. "But when I ask, all I get is alecture."

Kittan coughs, causing Simon to shrug and walk tothe other corner of the room to look at some old pictures on thewall. "As I was saying, the gunmen seem to be holed up in a small, abandoned underground village very close to here," said Kittan, shrugging his shoulders. "So, I guess we just go over thereand teach them a lesson."

"Yeah, we just run in there andkick the crap out of them, like we always do!" said Kamina. "That's the way Team Dai-Gurren rolls, baby!"

"But,wait Kamina," said Yoko. "How can we do this if we don'teven have gunmen?"

Kamina and the others just stare at her.

"Uh..." said Kittan.

"Uh..." mumbled Kamina.

Simon turned around with a grin on hisface. "See! This is why we need a plan!"

"And do you have one, hot shot?"scowled Kittan.

"In fact," grinned Simon. "I'mpretty sure I do!"
