Everything was in order for theceremony. The pillar in the middle of the room started to glow. Simon smiled, and inserted his drill.

"Do you think this is really goingto work?" asked Rossiu.

A fierce white light emanated fromthe pillar, blinding the two.

Is this it? Did I actually doit? He felt his answer grasp his hand gently, letting itkiss him on the lips again.

"Nia..." whispered Simon, opening his eyes. He had guessed right. His wife stood across fromhim in her wedding dress. Tear of joy streamed down Simon's face ashe hugged her.

Viral stood in the corner of the room. "Humans, why are they always so sentimental?"

"Oh, just shut up," said Rossiu.

Wiping his tears, Simon approached thetwo. "Well, I guess this is it. I leave the fate of the universeto you two." He grinned, sadly.

"You can trust us," said Rossiu, smiling.

"Yeah, we'll make sure the nextSpiral Kings are just as good as their predecessor," said Viral, letting out a rarely genuine smile.

"You better," smiled Simon, as hetook Nia by the hand and walked towards the door to the Afterlife. Kamina and the others all waved at him. Both of them smiled, firstat each other, then at their friends as they walked through theportal and disappeared.

"Well, at least he left his power inthe right hands," said Rossiu.

"Speak for yourself," snaredViral. "I'm using this power to take over this world for my kind!"

Rossiu looked at him with a terrifiedexpression. "Kidding," said Viral. "Row, row, fight the powerand all that nonsense. Let's go."

Viral and Rossiu left the chamber withSimon's core drill, and Rossiu couldn't help but smile. For once, everyone got to have a happy ending. Every story deserves a happyending.
