"You can't go in," said a man inmilitary attire. "Former President Rossiu is not expecting anyvisitors today."
Simon turned around, sulking. Immediately, he was grabbed by the collar and lifted off the ground.
Kittan chuckeld. "So. Your plan. Was to just walk up to the front gate of Rossiu's house. And justask for him? That's it? That was your plan?!"
Simon shouted back, "At least I hada plan! Unlike you, Mr. I didn't think to bring any gunmen with me!"
As the two fierce warriors got into afistfight over this issue, Yoko sighed and took out a cell phone. "Hey, it's me, can Simon and I come in? Yeah, it's me. Yeah, I dolook a lot younger, thank you for noticing. Okay, we'll be rightinside then."
Simon and Kittan looked up at Yoko, surprised.
"What?" she exclaimed. "He wasinterested me at one point too!"
Yoko began waltzing into the estate, leaving the rest of Team Dai-Gurren to just stand there and gawk.
Yoko sighed, stopped, and turnedaround. "Well? Aren't any of you coming?"
Choruses of, "Yes ma'am!", "Ofcourse, milady!", and "I will follow you until the end!" ensuedas the rest of Team Dai-Gurren scrambled after her.
...
"So, what you're telling me is thata gunman attacked Simon, awakening his latent abilities to summon thedead and reverse age in just about anyone, and now you are here, asking for my help?" Rossiu said, sitting in his dining roomtable, surrounded by Simon, Kamina, Kittan, and Yoko. "Excuse me,I am having a hard time-"
"You're seriously having a hard timebelieving us?" shouted Kittan, immediately rising from his chairand approaching Rossiu, grabbing him by the collar. Suddenly guardsbegin moving towards Kittan, only to be waved off by Rossiu himself. "Rossiu, you were our friend once! Don't say you don't believethat-"
"If you actually let me finish,"said Rossiu, removing Kittan's hands off of his collar. "You wouldhave heard me say that I am having a hard time figuring out why youcame to me for help."
"Huh?" said Kittan, fully confusedat the situation.
"I fully believe you," saidRossiu, standing up and walking over to the window. "That is afact. I mean, we are friends, aren't we?" With this phrase,Rossiu looked back at Kittan, who shot him a death stare and wasabout to approach him, but was restrained by Kamina, who motionedthat he should just listen. "What I don't understand is why youcame to me. What help can I, an old geezer, actually be?"
"One, you know where we can find ourold gunmen," said Simon. "Two, you don't look as old as youthink you are."
Rossiu looked down and realized thathe had returned to his adult form. Startled, he looked at Simon andthe others. "Uh, right this way..."
...
Inside the caverns below Rossiu'sestate was a museum, containing all of the original gunmen used byTeam Dai-Gurren in the first battle for Earth. The fighters werehappy to be able to return to their original gunmen, laughing andcheering as they reminisced over the battles of yore.
"Simon, Kamina, you come with me,"said Rossiu. "Wow," he said, looking down at himself with asmile. "I'm still getting used to this."
"Ahem," coughed Kamina.
"Oh, right!" jumped Rosssiu. "Follow me. An old friend of ours is waiting for us!"
In the distance, Simon could see theoriginal Gurren Lagann. I guess Gimmy and Darry aren't using itright now, thought Simon. Still, it's amazing to see that it'sstill in such good condition.
"You didn't think that I would letsuch a valuable gunman fall into ruin," said a voice. "Especiallywhen it belongs to my two fiercest rivals." Viral stepped out frombehind the leg with some tools and approached Simon and Kamina, smiling. "Simon...Kamina...it's been a while, hasn't it?"
Kamina chuckled. "Yeah, but itseems we got ourselves in quite the pickle."
"I know," Viral grinned. "Butno one's gonna defeat either of you except for me. That's why I tookthe liberty of keeping all these gunmen up to date."
"Wait, how did you know?" askedSimon.
"Viral was not just grantedimmortality," said Lordgenome, walking out to meet the group. "Healso has quite a good sense for these kind of things."
Viral smiled, "I'm here to help, andI insist on riding in Gurren so I can finally take down that creepwho stole my Enkidu!"
"So do I," said Rossiu. "OnceI realized where the gunmen were, I knew I had to help."
"Whatdo you mean?" asked Simon. "Where are they?"
"Theyare in my old village, and I don't intend to let them live after whatthey did to my father's memory. So I fight today, aswell!"
"Well, what are you waiting for Simon, your teamis waiting for your command," said Kamina. Simon looked athim, and Kamina nodded.
Nodding back, Simon climbed to thetop of Gurren Lagann and sat in the gunman, feeling the controls forthe first time in ages. Bootah popped out of his shirt pocket, holding his old core drill in his paws.
"So that's where you'vescampered off to! Thanks Bootah," said Simon. He took thedrill, and held it up to the sky. "This drill is the drillthat will pierce the heavens! No one can take this drill fromus, for this drill is my soul, and the soul of TeamDai-Gurren!" Simon smiled at Kamina, Yoko, Kittan, Rossiu,Viral, and the rest of his team. Grinning, Simon put on hissignature goggles. "It's time to show these guys just what they'remessing with!"
The resounding roar of his teammates, hisclosest friends, that was the fuel that Simon needed. Hewas all fired up.
