Why?

I never thought I was exceptional in any way, I mean I did think I was smarter, prettier, funnier then everyone else for a good solid three years, but that's just how I dealt with my changing body, so why would I care what anyone thinks. I don't. I was moved up a year so I'm currently in 11th grade. No one cares but my god are these people dumb, I mean I'm also in honors but I thought you'd assume that. Moving on to today new student, yippy. I've heard he's smart maybe someone I can finally relate to. I do have my best friend Jess. She's goofy but likeable. We work together and she can pull her weight. There's not many people I can enjoy being around but we relate like that.

9:20, I'm walking to school. The uniforms are basic, but everything you need. My backpacks heavy, but it has everything I need. The street is busy, but the trains on time today. Maybe I can have a good day my morning was rough but that's all at home, I'm at peace at school or on walks when I have my headphones on and notes only I can read.

9:55, I'm late. First class is at 8:30. It's Friday, I'm not waking up that early. I head to the bathroom next to Ms.Chesters homeroom cause I know Jess is there. She's wearing a hoodie over her vest which she's not supposed to wear to do.

"Sup, freak."

"What's going on future dropout."

Jess giggled and pulls out a snack from her pocket. She holds it near me offering me some, I wave it away and put away my headphones.

"Are you planning on going to class." I ask Jess already expecting the answer I always get.

"Nessa Kang, I thought you knew me" I give her the answer she expects.

"I'm hoping one day I'll rub off on you."

"You can rub off on me anytime."

"Creep." I'm heading to class k'. I pick up my bag and sling it on my shoulder. I make it to Mr.Trevors class about human biology. I never was a big fan but it's a whole lot better with him teaching it.

"You're early."

"I always am." I sit down at my desk and start doodling on in my notes. I usually take this time for some diary action but nothing really happened. The rest of the student rush in after 2 minutes of passing time. I notice the kids who feel comfortable and the one that are awkward and still trynna warm up to each other. I'm lucky to be sitting alone. Then again I'm rarely *lucky*. Cause about 30 minutes into class a disheveled pale white boy walks in. His hair is kinda long and shaggy. I can tell he was sweating and he's outta breath. He has round circles glasses that start sliding before he pushes them back up. Mr.Trevor is surprised.

"You're uh, Ivan right?" He nods his head regaining his calm. Mr.Trevor directs him to sit next to me. Darn you. He sits next to me, to close for my liking, but I ignore him. He smells nice, that's an observation. He has brown pretty hair, which is also an observation. His uniform is neat.

"Do you have a pencil?"
