Chapter 11

A/N: We're headed towards the Season 1 Finale and about to get into the next season which will be more Bonnie/Cole

"Am I late?" Amour asked Wyatt as she appeared at their house for a date he'd planned for them. He put a lot of effort in to have a movie night at the house.

"You're not late but where were you?" he asked her. She bit her lip. She couldn't tell him.

"I've just been taking a lot of walks lately. It helps me think," she said as she sat down.

"Anything I could help you with?"

"Not really," she said honestly. He stared at her, "I- Does being part demon make me naturally evil? Sometimes I think it does."

"That's not how it works. We make the choice. Daily, if you ask Cole. Have you talked to him about it?"

"He's so upset at his demon-ness that he just goes so hard on trying to be good."

"And that's a bad thing?" he asked, confused.

"No. I- I don't know," she brushed her hair back, "Is it not just who he is?"

"Demon is his species not evil," he reminded her.

"Aren't they two in the same?"

"Where is this coming from?"

    She didn't tell him anything else. She changed the subject to school work. They watched movies and worked on their homework. That night she got an inkling and fire traveled to the Underworld. "There you are. I've been calling all night," Zankou said to her. 

"I was hanging out with someone. Then I had training."

"Yes, with Belthazar."

"Who?"

"The man you know as Cole Turner. He is a demon we all knew as Belthazar. Many years ago, he turned his back on his people."

"Because he wanted to be good."

"He's a demon."

"So? You said that demons have potential because they have power," Zankou had been talking to her. Telling her about the history of demons and why they aren't at fault for what they do. It's just urges. She had some thoughts. She didn't know if she completely believed him but there was literature he'd shown her on the subject. Cole never told her anything besides to suppress her negative feelings.

"Yes but it cannot be changed over the course of one day. First, we unite the Underworld. tHen we can change its focus," he said to her. That made sense. That's what he'd been trying ton convince her to do. He said she was needed to control the underworld. That she would save people.

She was at training with Cole the next day, "Were demons always meant to be the bad guys?" she asked him during a break as she panted.

"What?" Cole asked, confused.

"You were created with a purpose, right? What purpose was it?"

"To cause chaos, corruption, and spread evil through the world."

"Are you sure?" she asked, chewing her lip. Cole noticed Bonnie did the same thing when she was sure she knew something and it was being questioned. Like when he told her about demons.

"I was taught by not just my mother but the Brotherhood of the Rose. It's an ancient fraternity of demons. Or at least, it was, before the Charmed Ones destroyed them. Though I suppose if I'm back, it stands to reason that others could be back as well."

"Would that be such a bad thing?"

"Yes, in fact it would," he said. She nodded and he kept training her. She wished she could have more conversations with him but he wouldn't give her the time of day. Or her mom. He avoided them both when it wasn't about her training.
