𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟕

The sudden jolt inside the carriage awoke me.I wearily rubbed my eyes and softly drew open the curtain. Outside, the carriage was going past the vibrant rolling hills, with fluffy white clouds letting out a soft hue. "Don't you worry my lady." Selena murmured. "I think that was just a small stone lodged onto the road. But if it was something else..I'll take care of it for you!"I smiled at Selena, grateful for trying to elevate this gloomy atmosphere. 

We were currently going to one of the grand palaces on the east side of the country. This place was meant to be a recuperation place for high nobles or royalties who had terminal illness. However, after the cause of my sickness has been revealed, Claude firmly insisted that I needed some of the long-well needed rest. I could see on his diamond eyes that he genuinly cared about me. His brows crinkled as he let out a heavy sigh. I lightly touched his palm and grasped it firmly. 

"Claude, it's going to be alright. Let's just think of this as a small challenge-a trial in my life. I'll defintely get rid of this curse and come back to you, my dear Emperor." Claude had smiled through his tears that he tried to restrain. With his hands touching my back, he gave a last, firm hug. The moon was ever so bright that night, with its ethereal aura, brighting up our future. 

"My lady, we arrived at the palace!" Selena shouted excitedly as she gazed at the palace towering over us. I withdrew the carriage curtains and stared, awestruck at the magnificent castle in front of me. The castle was certaintly huge, with gothic styled roof and a beautiful stained glass.

"To think that he prepared such a place for me..." I murmured as the knights opened the door. I hoped that I would be able to go back as soon as I could. 

"Dear Queen Regeant, please hold out my hand." The knight said as he held out his hand. I took the hand gracefully and lifted up the hem of my dress. The head maid stepped out and took a bow. 

"Greetings to Queen Alexandra, the beloved moon of the Obelion Empire." The head maid said as she bowed once again. I smiled in return as I headed to the palace. 

The insides of the palace was impassively more beautiful then the outer. Surely, this place was the place of the high nobles. Selena led the way while I trailed back, glancing around at the sophisticated artworks and foreign tapestry hung on the walls, As we arrived at the door to my chamber, Selena and the head maid turned around. 

"My lady, it seems like this is your room!" Selena said as she opened the door. 

The room itself was just beautiful, with delicate chandler rooted to the ceiling. It was also quite massive in size, in which I felt a strong sense of loneliness. I remembered the days where I would have a tea with Claude in his office. It was quite big like my new chamber, but it didn't feel quite lonely like this.

Hopefully, I would be able to return in a few weeks time. 

Surly, time would pass by, would it?

Claude missed her. Quite a lot, in fact.

She was the only one who understood his pain. The betrayals. The duties to uphold. She understood those things and stood by with him, withstanding.

But now she was gone, far away from him. 

He understood the importance. A curse was cast upon her, and she had no choice but to be far away from him and from the royal palace. If he found anyone who was involved in this curse, he was sure to execute them all. 

But for now, Duties await. 

He sighed willfully as he headed towards his office once again.

"Your highness, you still need to prepare for the royal ball that is scheduled to be opened next week." One of Claude"s secretary said as he willfully signed away the forms. Claude sighed again. His workload had increased, due to Alexandra leaving for recuperation. Now he had to take up all of the royal duties that was discarded. And now, a royal banquet was being held next week? Quite a busy scheduling was awaiting him. 

And now, he had to go to a ball without her. This thought irritated him the most, as he slammed the desk. His secretary glanced at him nervously. Lately, after the queen regeant left, his majesty has been feeling ill tempered for some time. It seems like he finally imploded after several days. 

The secretary gulped in fear as he hurried up the papers. It seems like he won't be headed towards home anytime soon.
