Niall's POV
I was currently out for lunch with Gigi! We had plans to get lunch and go see a movie, little did she know, back at home the boy's had a surprise. Gracie was already 7 and a half months pregnant, we had to get a baby room ready, so we decided to surprise her with one. I had zero faith in the boys D.I.Y skills, leaving me looking nervous. I was fidgeting with my fingers, texting the boys to check on their progress.
"How's it going?" Liam texted me
"I think she's getting suspicious." I texted back.
"What's with you today? You're really jumpy." Gracie asked, raising her eyebrow at me.
"Me? No, I'm fine." I laughed, awkwardly. "It's just nice to hang out, just the two of us."
"Okay, but you've checked your phone like 50 times, if you have somewhere you need to be you can go, it's ok." Gracie said, smirking.
"No, I'm just trying to make sure we have a perfect day!"
It was clear she wasn't fully buying my scheme, but that was ok. As long as she doesn't work out exactly what's going on.
Liam's POV
I was trying to get through this nursery as fast as possible because Niall and Gracie can't be out forever. I was starting to get some of the furniture assembled boxes flooded the floor. I pulled out the instructions for the crib, they left me utterly confused.
"How the hell is that supposed to work." I muttered under my breath.
"Just ditch the instructions Payno." Louis called out.
I rolled my eyes at this, then went back to building the crib. I looked around to see what the rest of the boys were doing. Harry was on a step ladder, attempting to hang up a baby mobile. Louis was staring at a paint brush, a mischievous look on his face. Zayn on the other hand was in the corner, organising baby clothes and toys, pure joy on his face as he folded a little onesie with elephants on it. Louis, standing in the middle of the room, started twirling the paintbrush like a wand.
"Right, who's ready to transform this place into the coolest baby room ever?" He cheered.
Harry sighs from the ladder, looking down at him. "Mate, we're just trying to make it look, you know, baby friendly. Not like a circus."
"A circus? Please," Louis says, grinning. "I've got taste. We should make it bold, colourful! Babies love stimulation." He gestured at a can of bright green paint.
I, still struggling with the crib parts, looked back down at my work, while talking. "If you paint that wall green, Gracie's going to murder us all."
"I vote blue. Something calming." Zayn suggested, folding another onesie, barely glancing up. "Gracie's got enough chaos with all of us around."
Harry agreed with Zayn, "Exactly. Sky blue. Soothing. It'll help the baby sleep."
Louis rolls his eyes but relents. "Fine. Blue. But we're doing an accent wall, right? Something fun?"
I finally look up at him, exasperated. "Louis, just paint the room. We need this crib done before Niall brings her back."
Harry's POV
I knew we were in a time crunch to get this room done. Louis and I were attempting help Liam finish the crib, unfortunately, we weren't very helpful. We were trying to attach the frame.
"You've got it upside down." Liam said, rubbing his temples. "The base goes the other way."
"It looks the same!" Louis argued, flipping the base. "What's the difference?"
