The darkness continued to engulf the world, with temperatures plummeting and cities falling silent. The once-bustling streets were now empty, lit only by dim, flickering lights casting long shadows. People huddled inside their homes, seeking warmth or, perhaps, hoping to escape the overwhelming fear of the unknown. Panic and despair had become the new normal, as rumors about the "Age of Darkness" spread like wildfire.

But the true disaster was yet to come.

On the seventh night after the return of the celestial paths, something unprecedented happened. Chu Yunsheng was sitting in his apartment, clutching the ancient book, trying once more to enter a meditative state. Outside, the city was eerily quiet, save for the howling wind. Suddenly, a piercing scream shattered the stillness of the night.

He rushed to the window, peering through the cracks. On the streets below, something strange was happening—a massive shadow was slowly moving in the dim moonlight. Its form was indistinct, as though it were made of the very darkness that surrounded it. Chu Yunsheng's heart pounded in his chest as he stared at the enormous creature.

This was no ordinary beast. Its eyes glowed like red flames, and its body seemed to radiate a malevolent, otherworldly energy. As it walked, the ground trembled slightly beneath its weight. The creature's massive claws easily tore through the parked cars on the street, the sound of metal shredding filling the air.

"This is exactly what the ancient book foretold," Chu Yunsheng realized with a sinking feeling.

With every step the creature took, the terror on the street grew. Panicked residents ran in every direction, but their efforts were futile. One unfortunate man tried to flee but was grabbed by the creature, lifted into the air, and torn apart with ease. The brutality was beyond comprehension—like a nightmare come to life.

Chu Yunsheng quickly backed away from the window, his heart racing. The arrival of these monsters was more terrifying than the cold and darkness. He now knew without a doubt that these creatures were from the other dimension the ancient book had warned about. With the overlap of the celestial paths, powerful beings from another realm had begun to invade Earth.

He hurried to retrieve the talismans he had painstakingly crafted over the last few days, based on his study of the ancient book. Only one of them had been successfully activated, and its faint glow offered him some reassurance. He knew, however, that it wouldn't be nearly enough to fend off a creature like the one he had just seen.

"I need to gain more power," he reminded himself.

Outside, the growls and roars of the monsters grew louder, and more of them seemed to be approaching. His hands trembled slightly, but he couldn't afford to let fear take over. If he didn't adapt quickly and learn to harness the power of the ancient book, he would end up just like those helpless people outside—prey for the monsters.

Taking a deep breath, Chu Yunsheng held the book tightly, closed his eyes, and tried once again to enter a meditative state. He needed to find a way to resonate with the celestial energy. Only then would he stand a chance against the horrors that were beginning to unfold.

Outside, the world was descending into chaos and slaughter, but Chu Yunsheng knew that the true Age of Darkness had only just begun.
