Avan

"Those are some quirks to overusing all of your magic in one go," Yukio said, his face etched with concern. " Atleast that is what Kojiro and Dr.Featherios found out after their analysis."

" What are your...last memories of yesterday evening?" asked Deuce awkardly.

" Last evening?" blinked Avn. Then a searing pain shot through his forehead bringing back everything from his breakdown at seeing the mine phantom to finding the sword in the middle of the woods and using it to slay it.

He looked down instinctively at his lower abdomen. A tattoo he didn't recall ever getting now resided there. It depicted a sword coiled within a dragon, intricate and detailed.

" This tattoo..." he managed in a hollow voice. He touched it with curiosity. The moment his fingers made contact, it glowed gold, sending a shockwave of heat through his body and made him yelp as it did the others in the room who somehow shielded their eyes.

" What is going on?" yelled Ace shielding his eyes somehow.

" It is so fucking bright." cried Yutou.

" Is this the end?" screamed Grim.

Tho the most scared was Avan himself, he couldn't control the light coming from him for no reason.

When the light finally faded, he opened his eyes fearing the worst tho this time more shock awaited him as there shone on his hand a sword unlike any Avan had seen.
Panting heavily, he stared at the sword in disbelief.

The sword gleamed faintly in the dim bathroom light. Its blade was sleek and silver, with strange, ancient runes etched along its length, glowing softly. The hilt was made of dark metal, intricately designed, with a dragon coiled around the grip, its wings extending upward to form the guard. The pommel had a small gemstone, a deep, fiery red that seemed to pulse in sync with Avan's heartbeat.

His friends finally uncovered their eyes all of them visibly shook.

" Dude," sighed Ace, " That was actually real? I thought I was having another nightmare."

Yutou bonked Avan on his head," The next time you better give a heads up before pulling that stunt, Kinpatsu yarō. "

" Agreed," cried Grim tumbling awkardly into Yukio's lap. " I am seeing the cosmos in my eyes."

"I can't believe that someone like me has a tattoo that can turn into a sword," blinked Avan reeling from this development.

" And also one that allowed you to slay that phantom." said Deuce." I couldn't recognize you for a moment when you wielded it. The energy you emanated almsot made you seem like a Sun God."

" The sword is nothing ordinary that much I can say." said Ace.

Avan felt a mixture of pride and apprehension in himself. Pride at the compliments and awe he was recieving for the first time from someone other than Luke. But then slight apprehension crept in: based on what he had seen so far there was a high chance his gift came with a catch.

And it came true when he observed Yutou and Yukio look at each other and have a silent heated conversation in 'twin code'.

" Avan," said Yutou finally despite Yukio showing clear reluctance, " I believe it is time we both tell you something."

Yutou

Yutou crossed his arms and smirked. “So that's it you the legendary 'hero who slays all evil'. Though initially, with how much of a cowardly pipsqueak you seemed, I wasn’t exactly keen on playing sidekick. But now, given the whole glowing sword incident, I think I’m willing to let you hide behind me when things get tough.”
